#How do I do this?
47 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I just did the 2(trapezoid+triangles) area and got 24 but it is incorrect. anyone know why?
Can you show the steps you took?
Also you should only multiply one triangle and one trapezoid added together by 2
yes i did that i can do it again
area of trapezoid = (1+4)/2 * 4 = 10
area of triangle = (1+4)/2 = 5/2
(10+5/2)*2 = 20+5 = 25
now i got 25 is this correct?
i don't think it is that simple, the answer should be a common fraction is what the question says.

The total area of both triangles is 1/4
why isnt it 5?
(1+4)/2 * 2 = 5
give me a sec maybe im confusing the questions i'll circle what im looking at right now
ok so you are saying that this part is 1/4?
it says the width is 4m wide tho
ohh i see, i was confused my bad.
isnt the width shortest side and length the longest?
i searched online and i think it is the shortest side no? i think it should say the length is 4. the wording is not very good then. thanks anyways tho
Width is defined as measurement from side to side
Horizontal width here is 4 because there are 4 total units in the span from -2 to 2
