Basically I’m trying to program it to where depending on player joystick input player will rotate around the axis instead of their velocity just going in that direction

you need to split ur controller input vector into two components, one parallel to ur tangent line and one perpendicular

ur parallel vector is ur movement along the circle, ur perpendicular is ur forward force

but this would be hard because you'd have to sample ur controller input and ur ball's position on the circle at small intervals of time and recalculate ur vectors

They wouldn’t really go in a circle because the centripetal force isn’t really there cause of slack
