So you know the find the midpoint formula for find the endpoint? So I learned that on some of them you put in the numbers x1 and y1 and some of them I need to put in x2 and y2 how iam I supposed to know whitch equations I need to do the x1 and y1 and whitch ones I need to do x2 and y2. This is the photo of the questions for an example the top one I had to use the x1 and y1 number and the bottom one I had to use the x2 and y2 numbers, how will I be able to tell?

I submitted it and it said those questions where right

do you not understand why or?

naive turret
# wary junco what do you need help with?

I know the formula just for some equations you need to use x1 and y1 and some I need to use x2 and y2, I don’t know how to know when to use x1 and y1 or x2 and y2

#

I sure you will get what I’m saying if you look at the photo with the questions

i dont think you need a equation ngl

#

you can kinda mental math it

naive turret
#

It’s the midpoint formula exept I’m solving for a endpoint

#

How do u mental math it

wary junco
#

you have point a

#

and point b

#

so ur finding c

#

find the difference between a and b

#

ohhhhh

#

Its x2-x1, y2-y1

#

i think

Where (x1,y1),(x2,y2) are the endpoints of the line segments

#

Notice how the order of the points doesn’t matter

#

You can sub in the known end point as (x1,y1) or (x2,y2) and you would still get the same result
