@help

#

plz someone ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

#

what specific help you need?

#

I swnt the picture

#

?

#

the first 2 questions

#

I want to knwow how to solve them

#

not just the answer

#

ok

#

so i need to find the common factor right

#

you want to multipy them together, and simplify them

#

correct?

#

like multiply both sides by the denominator u mean?

#

no no, you want to multiply each part of the equation to get 1 expression

#

right?

#

like outright multiply u mean

#

59 x 80?

#

that is what it is asking, no?

#

and 99 x 33

#

the instruction is to just simplify each expression

#

so this is mt answer

#

is it right?

#

and since they both appear to be multiplication of fractions, you should be good?

#

uh let me check

yay it worked

#

sry on my phone

#

no worries

#

question 1 checks out

#

im doing 2 rn

#

1 sec

#

based on the instruction provided, it is right

#

now?

#

your denominator after reducing seems to be off i think

#

no cuz 1-2= -1

#

you can reduce 3162 and 1071 by 3 once

#

the n part is fine

#

that checks out

#

i mean the plain numbers

#

huh

#

i dont get it

#

can u solve and show me

#

or draw

#

on a pic

#

on ur phone

#

got it, 1 min

#

okay thx

safe otter
#

I would simplify first to make it easier to multiply

#

but @analog perch got it

#

oh kk

analog perch
#

yea i actually dont know how to multiply lol

#

i just passed in math until like 11th grade n now i have to study this

#

First step

#

we multiply the 2 expressions to get 1

analog perch
#

Second step

#

we reduce by a common factor

#

in this case, 3

#

how do i know whats the common factor for them using a calculator

#

cuz the numbers are way too big

#

do you know about the checks for finding multiples of some numbers?

#

no

#

like this trick with multiples of 3, where when you add all digits up, it will equal another multiple of 3

#

is there a video on that

#

let me find one rq

#

okay thx

#

i am not having a lot of luck searching for a video, but i can explain a few tricks

#

For multiples of 2: number has to be even (6 is even, therefore a multiple of 2; 7 is not even, therefore not a multiple of 2)

#

For multiples of 3: the digits of the number will equal 3, 6, or 9 when added together; if this doesn't work, try it again until it does (123 is a multiple of 3; 1 + 2 + 3 = 6)

#

For multiples of 5: number has a digit of 5 or 0 in the one's place (2__5__ or 3__0__)

#

there are more tricks to identify a multiple of a number quickly, and you can find it online at anytime

#

in this case, we can use these tricks to find out potential common factors

#

3162 is even, 1071 is not (2 can not be a common factor)

#

3 + 1 + 6 + 2 = 12; 1 + 2 = 3 (so 3162 is a multiple of 3) and 1 + 0 + 7 + 1 = 9 (so 1071 is also a multiple of 3)

#

3 is the common factor

#

divide them both by 3 to reduce

#

and you get 1054/357n

#

1054 is even, 357 is odd, so 2 can't work, and 1 + 0 + 4 + 5 =10, which is not a multiple of 3, therefore 3 cant work

#

you could check for any other niche multiples, and maybe reduce further if possible

#

I apologize for this essay, but that video is near impossible for me to find

#

well my answer was the same as urs and i just used a calculator so ill stick with that for now cuz my exam is in like 12 hours and tbh i didnt understand most of what u said

#

sorry ;-;

#

but thanks now ik how to do it at least

analog perch
#

you're welcome

#

can i keep this unsolved cuz i have more questions i want to chdck the answer to

#

its ok if u dont reply i think others will later

#

sure thats fine

#

thx
