how did they graph this? I get where the points came from but I am struggling to understand the graph

So we draw

ahhhh okay I see
So till x=-2
We draw the graph of line
Then for x>-2
We switch to other function as given
From -2 to 3
We have f(x)=x^2-3

Can u factorise x^2-3

it says if x is between -2 and less then or equal to 3

This means they wanna say
That for x>-2 and less than or equal to 3
We draw this graph
Or we say that our function is this
so in -2 it would be an open circle to show it's not included right

For f(x)=2x+8
But not for f(x)=x^2-3
That's why u see a open circle in the graph of x^2-3
x is greater then 3
