You need to treat 3 as 15/5 to have a common denominator in both cases to be able to comfortably subtract 1r1/5. You can write 1r1/5 as 6/5. And then subtract that from 15/5. So the result is (15-6)/5 = 9/5 or 1r4/5. I assume this is what the question was, right?
