@sudden birch To do the sign diagram, just look where the the curve is above/below the x-axis

For x = 1: The function is UNDEFINED. That means it's neither positive nor negative! That's why you draw a little dotted line ABOVE the 1 to represent that it's undefined.

Well the part to RIGHT of 1 is positive, you can see it on the graph. The function is above the x-axis for x > 1.
