what is an 'infinitely long triangle'
An isosceles triangle stretched infinitely vertically
so it's just two parallel lines?

you can say that it's two parallel lines if you want

right so you can define it to be whatever you want
nah but I mean like what would you think the awsner is
i'd say two parallel lines
connecting after an infinite distance but the distance between the two lines doesn’t decrease after any finite distance
Do you have a reasoning or just an intuitive awsner
I could see it either way
there isn't really any reasoning to be done because the question is so poorly defined
i think you could maybe formalize it if you think of one of the vertices as a point at infinity
but in that case the lines are parallel
but you can say that if you translate the non-base vertex of the isosceles triangles more and more up, the base angles approach 90 degrees
so the limit would be parallel lines
ya so I think probably the more general awsner would be that yes the 2 sides would be parallel
There is no such thing as “after an infinite distance”
You could take limits of terms in triangle inequalities and stuff but you can’t really have an angle “at infinity”
the angel at infinity would approch 0 right?

or like theres some example but i probably couldnt rigoursly define
like an example that might be revelent is from the graph y = 1/x , from the left the y values goes down forever to negative infinity and " after an infinite distance" the graph then comes from the top, postive infinity then comes back down to 0
