I did.. but, unable to get the answer.. stuck midway
I've expanded cos^2 to (1+cos2x)/2 .. taken 1/2 as common.. simplified the rest
all the sides
and then I'm not sure how to forward with it..
well, let’s not solve it that way
then, how am I supposed to solve it?

Now write cos^2(a+b) as (cos(a)cos(b)-sin(a)sin(b))^2 and try to simplify!
