find the area of both triangles and subtract
if im not wrong, it should be: (h · b2 / 2) - (h · b1 / 2)
where h is the height, b1 is the short base and b2 the long base
Try finding the area of the triangle and adding Them, since its a octagon the area is the same for all the triangles
You have that each side is 12cm
so area of the triangle is pretty easy
Then you just have to add them
But yeah remember that u have to convert
cm to inches or vice versa
If u didnt do that
yeah
so that u get same unit for both of them
.5 times base times height
You could try to divide that into 2 triangles
so literally .5 times 8 times 5
i had a different way of doing it, tell me if im wrong 😅
i divided it into 2 rectangles, one beign the sum of the 2 triangle you get by cutting the top and bottom, and the other is the rest u are left with, so: 4 · 3 + 5 · 4
i dont get that, sorry if im dumb xd
Not sure what you did but i think you got the correct answer
Its just the formula for calculating the triangle, height times base times 0,5 (or divided by half)
