You check each interval on its own
prove that the function is continious in that interval
then check the limit in its edges
2 and 8
when they have equal limits on 2- and 2+
it's continious in that point
i tried to and my result did not match with the answers..

but i'll tell you an example
for x in [0;2[
x---> x²+4 is definite and continious in [0;2[
do the limit for x=2-
you do the same for the next one
now it's for both edges
for the last one
it's continious for R
So you do the limit in 8+
you won't find it continious neither in 2 or 8
