You should do (-2)-2 for q
If you do -(-2) you are adding 2
And basically q can’t be positive because he his smaller than -2
right, i think im just used to doing x-y when you’re looking for the distance between x and y
it just seems so straight forward but that logic doesn’t work here
the way its written, you have -2 - q = 2 instead, which gets you that q = -4
-q - (-2) is -2 according to the picture
this always works, subtracting gets you the "signed distance" between x and y
doing |x - y| always gets you the distance between x - y
