# unborn lichen Please maybe just the answers

since they're similar they have to be proportionate
hypotenuse is 7, opposite is 5, so there's a difference of 2 numbers
for triangle 2, since the opposite is 19, the hypotenuse has to have the same difference
so it'd be 21 if I'm not mistaken

thats what i thought to but it said it was wrong

so one sec

#

ill explain

LMN is similiar to OPQ, meaning side LM corresponds with OP, MN would correspond with PQ, and etc. Similiar triangles have the same angles right, they are just differently scaled. If you can find that scale factor for one set of sides, it has to apply to the rest of the sides. Since we know that side OP (19) corresponds with LM (5), we can find the scale factor by doing 19/5. We know LN corresponds with QO, so now we can multiple LN (7) with that scale factor (19/5) to get 26.6.

@unborn lichen @west yarrow

#

does that make any sense

unborn lichen
#

yes

west yarrow
#

could u also do it using tangent?

unborn lichen
#

so for examble 7 (corresponding to x) * (sf) 19/5 = 26.6

and you cant use law of sin or cosin either since no angles and a missing side.
