some problems we did i found easyt
this one
i have no idea
in the key my teacher uses syntheti cdivison and i have no idea why
i cant figure out how to factor the denominator
idk where to go
once i do
im just fully lost
if anybody can give some idea to solve it that will help
or explain why the teacher does everything at least
onc ei get the 3 blue equations ill beo good
with a/x+1 ?
thats how partial fractions work, you create a sum of equation that equate to the original expression
i thought we only need to do synthetic divison if the degree of numerator is more than denomiantor
im still not very confident in what i know because we started learning this last class this is our first homework on the topic
i know how to do synthetic dvision but still why she dividng by x+1
or why dividng at all still not sure
on this part?
no in the synthetic division
here i understand it sbecause thats the factors
but ia lso dont know how ur meant to factor that denominator
jsut watching a video on synthetic division
it gets the same answer
i know how to do it
idk why she doing it here
like whats the purposoe
ok so
shes re-written x^3+2x^2-5x-6
as (x+1)(x^2+x-6)
do u know how to put it in brackets like that?
its just factorising
she did that becuase she doesnt want to divide by the whole denominator
its easier to just write it as a form of factors and divide by the smalklest factor x+1
she used synthetic division to factorise it
so let me write it in a summary, she knew x+1 was a factor, she divided by that factor through synthetic division to find all the factors of x^3 +2x^2 -5x -6
and then she's written them as partial fractions
and multiplied on each side like you usually do with partial fractions
