i have the roots of it but the website doesn't like the way i wrote the equation after completing the square
(x-1.5)^2=x^2-3x+2.25
x^2-3x+2.25-20.25=x^2-3x-18
(x-1.5)^2-18=0
which is wrong
i got (x-3/2)^2=81/4
which is also apparently wrong
i have both of the roots
its asking me for the equation after completing the square
which is something im confused about
@frosty trout
when you solve the equation you get x^2-3x-18=0
i don't think so
you can't get (x^2-3x-18) just by squaring a number
i think you have to add/subtract it at the end
i don't know 😭
whats the original question
solve the equation x^2-3x-18=0 by completing the square
i solved it right i just
wrote the wrong thing
ruaah thanks for your help @frosty trout
😄
like the sets of numbers you wrote in the red
oh
i know the numbers have to add to one and multiply to the other
ill write it out
its not really a short cut but you can just do it in mind
you can?
You see the last number as a times b
And use the sign before to add or subtract one from each other
And see the sum thing equals to the number before x
Not x^2
Yea
Need a bit time if its too big
so in x^2-3x-18, -18 would be viewed as timed b
and you would use the sign from x to subtract -3 and -18 from each other?
Using those number which made up 2184
And try to make two numbers that will get 10
After subtracting
Its called long division
use the prime number that can use to devide and move on to the next when the previous is undecidable
Devidable
where did you learn that from
Our school???
are you talking about the division or the factoring
we long divide differently
america
oops
we don't divide it like that
literally
alright ill figure it out
i don't know how to close the problem
