(x+1)^2+(y+4)^2=36

yes

if you look at a coordinate system it makes sense

#

at the x-axis y is 0
and at the y-axis x is 0

ok I have another question not pertaining to this at all, which way easier then this. this post is technically for my shy friend.

#

I'm assuming your pretty good at multiplication

spare comet
#

when it comes to multiplication do you use a formula to calculate or do you memorize the multiples of each number up to a certain point?

dry cedar
#

(i do up until 12 iguess)

spare comet
#

how did you go about memorizing them?

dry cedar
#

it starts with elementary

#

when you do it quite often through the years you just know

#

but logic helps too

spare comet
#

logic?

dry cedar
#

like if i dont know 9 times 12, I do 12 times 10 in my head which is easy it's 120 and then I can subtract 12 which results to 108

#

give your shy friend either some table (he should learn at least up to 10)

#

or he should start some exercises where you decompose numbers into prime factors or factors

The question: A Ferris wheel has a maximum height of 235 feet and a wheel diameter of 220 feet. Find an equation for the wheel if the center of the wheel is on the y-axis and y represents the height above the ground.

#

equation for a circle is $(x-m_x)^2 + (y-m_y)^2 = r^2$
