you should know the property of exponents that if there are two expressions in which the bases are equal and the expressions are said to be equal
then their powers must be equal
like 729 = 3^x
here you need to bring 729 as an exponent of 3 to be able to find the value for x
729 = 9^3 = 3^6
therefore x is 6

4^(x+4) can be written as 2^2(x+4)
