According to your question, the line is tied with two different numbers that's between those numbers. The line between two numbers mean they are included, but different inequality sign.

#

It says using "X" as the unknown. That's your unknown variable

obsidian wasp
#

yeah but idk what inequality sign to use for it

#

its supposed to be like this 'number. inequality sign, x , inequality, sign, number'

# obsidian wasp but idk what inequality sign to put

Look at your number line. What dots do both of the numbers have? Hollow or solid dot? Once you figure it out, write down the numbers and then the signs between the two of the inequalities. Both should have different inequalities in this number line.

ok yeah i dont think yk what i meant

nope

ok, you basicly have to give an interval where for the values x can have

#

e.g. if i say my x has to be between -2 and 2

#

i say -2 < x < 2

#

and in this case the line above the line with the numbers is supposed to show which values x can have

#

it doesnt really have something to do with equations this time

obsidian wasp
#

yeah ik but its the signs where idk if i should use >= this sign on it or not or just > or smth like that

#

no wait actually i got it because i just looked at how i did my other old question

#

the answer is this

yayy

#

was that what u were reffering to?

turbid marsh
#

yes, i would have done it just like you did

or it could have also been expressed as
x ε (-4 , 3 ] .

Yup...just an alternative if inequality wasnt a compulsory
