Didn't you already multiply x + 1 by 3 to get it out of the denominator?
wait X = 20 is an answer... why putting 3 in denominator after multiplyin with 7
tbh idk i feel like i did it wrong
wdym? and how did u get 20
oh nvm i see whatu mean. nvm i actually dont know what u mean
i dont understand
What exactly don’t you understand
everything
is that 1.3 next to the 7
No it means I multiplied the whole equation with 3
well you need to find a number for x that solves the equation
and if you multiply (x+1)/3 with 3
you get x+1
but you also need to multiply the other side with three, otherwise the equation isnt equal anymore
im confused
ok what confuses you
what u said
multiplying the equation?
yeah
so when you see an equation with a fraction, its often a good idea to solve the fraction first
well what equals 1/3 multiplied with 3 ?
idk 1/6
okay
and they all have the same size
yeah
every of these 3 pieses are 1/3 of the whole cake right?
yeah
so if you take all three of your pieces together, you get a whole cake
yup
means three times 1/3 cake is 1 cake
okay
and that same principle is used for fractions
in your equation (x+1) got divided into# three pieces
and if you multiply it with three, you get only x+1
yeah
otherwise the other side will be three times bigger
but how would i write that down in proper form
i always wrote it down like in the example i send before, no teacher ever complained
great
youre welcome, im glad i could help you 🙂
if you dont have any further questions, you can type .solved
so everyone knows we finished here
i have more questions
oh okey
but ima finish up with d first
ok
ok for this one add 8 to both sides
okay
and then solve the fraction like we did before
you can always check yourself by inserting your solution into x, if the equation is correct, you made it right
ok send me what you did
ok that now how we solved the fraction before
you got x/2 = 22
thats correct
you got two half x's so how do you get a whole x?
do we add 2
okay
think what we did before with the fraction
do we multiply it by something
yes
oh so i multiply it by 2 then
yes correct
no, it would be x/4 if you divide with 2
i thought we multiplying tho
we are!
u just said we dividing
if you mulitply x/2 with 2, you get x
how is that possible
think about the cake example
lets say the whole cake is x
and you got an half cake, means a half x
to get a full cake, you need 2 half cakes
yeah
okey, so whats the solution?
yes nice correct
would i multiply the fraction again
with the denominator(the number under the 2x)
9*12 is 108 btw
ok wait now you got two times x
means if you want to get one, you need to get the half from both sides
imm confusedd
well the problem is, that you have 2x =108
why is it x+2
its not
then what would it be
oh ok
good start
thx
yes
now how would you get rid of that fraction
idk
just do it like before
yes
and we also do it to the 6
yes
so what would that get you
2(k-3)=30
then whats the next step
we needa do 2xk and 2x-3 i think
yes you expand the brackets
make k stand alone like before
you always want k on its own
would i divide 2 by 2
wait so you get 2k-6=30 right
yeah
so you could do that
but i normally tend to do +6 and get it to the other side of the equation
yeah thats what i do too
so if u divide by 2, what would u get
0?
idk
so you when you divide by 2 you want k without the 2 right
yeha so i would do 2/2
which would get you
wait but if i did 2/2 wouldnt i have to do it to the 36 aswell?
yes because 2k=36
yuh then it would be k =18 right?
bravo
yesss i gotit
nice
help plz
how do i do that
what do you have now?
yes, do you do -10x on both sides
almost
dont forget the one x that already exists on the left side
means 1x-10x = -90
where did the -90 go
ofc
1x-10x = -90
if you subtract 10x from one x you get -9x
so i would then write -9x = -90?
yup, and then last but not least make x stand alone like before
yes
okay thanks
and at the end remove the minus
okok
so whats the solution?
x = 10?
yup good job
-3y*2 is ?
-6y
yup
whats next
to remove -6y from the right side you have to add +6y to both sides
y=34?
you got 7y = 28
well if you have y = 28-6y you need to add 6y on both sides
yeah i would add 6y to -6y and 28 but why y aswell?
you cant just move parts of the equation around
yes
thats what i did
thats right
so how is it 7y
yup, but you need to add the opposide of whats standing there
if you have -6y , you need to add 6y
yeah so then if i added 6y to -6y why do i do it with y
for 6y you need to subtract -6y on both sies
yeha
because you want it to stand alone
yea, but 6y is not the same as 6
Ehm
wouldnt it be y = 4?
One sec
okay
okay but i dunno how to get to 4
Should I stream it real quick?
