Lets have this as an example

Lets say i choose the numbers in between -3 and 1
I choose 0
If i were to substitute 0 in to x i would get -3 left so it is a negative number

Ifin between the numbers -3 and 1 it will result in the y axis to be negative and is less than 0

And if i were to substitute any number more than 1 it will result in positive number
If i substitue any number less than -3 it will result in a posituve also

Then the inequality shows that they want the equation to be more than 0

More than 0 meaning tht the y axis should be positive

So anything below -3 and anything more than 1 will give u a positive y axis thus the inequality will be
X<-3
And x>1
