ok looking at the equation at the t=0 hes 80ft above the water
mhm
means if you set h = 0, you should find out the time it took him
that equation you can solve with the quadratic formula
ax^2 + bx + c = 0?
Yes
Hm
i can try to solve it and write it hidden in this chat if you want to compare
okey that works too
Alr brb
ok gl
uhhhhh
you got something?
oh, which formula did you lern the solve equations like ax²+bx+c?
wat
because most people use this one
What the heck
ok well thats just the standart form a quadratic equation
so what do i do
i can only explain you this one, ive never learned the other one
im from germany, we had this in 7th grade or so
7th grade????
ye i think so
bruh
it easy trust me
I mean if you say so
ok first thing, you can always use this formular for equations with ax²+bx+c
not for x³
e.g. if you have a equation looking like this x³+x²+x+1
then in your example, you have to remove every number before the x²
means in our case case dividing everything with (-16)
What if I'm dividing that with the 8t
so you got x²-(1/2)x-5 = 0
where did you get that
i just divided everything with -16
is -5
._.
p stands in this case for the number in front of the x , in our case -1/2
q stands for the number at the end , in our case -5
that looks hard man
so 1/2 divided by 2 is 1/4
when 1/16 i got from (1/2)/2 = 1/4
if you square this you get 1/16
because you got a quadratic equation you get 2 solutions
first you use +
means 10/4
second solution - means -8/4 = -2
im so confused
where did you stop
from here
or where did problems appear?
yes, but with this equation, it will hardly work
Can you maybe rewrite the process
I dont mean to judge you for the bad handwriting
Not in a mean way, pls don't take it seriously
just strictly follow the formula
the number before the x
I'm confused on how you put the 1/2 over the p/2
1/2/2???
Or you could use decimal like 0.5/2
sure, but its hard to calculate 0,25*0,25
that's where it gets confusing
but you could also just multiply the denominators
means 1/2 / 2 = 1/4
This video explains how to solve quadratic equations using the quadratic formula.

unfortunately i have to go to bed now im sorry
That's fine
you can mabye watch this video
Thx for the help
they will explain you the other formula
I'll check it out
do you need the solution?
the solution?
for the question
Yeh why not
solution -> ||10/4 or 2,5||
a negative time doesnt make send so that the only reasonable one
good night
good night
?
I thought you went sleep
that was hours ago
help
no
my teacher likes zelda
Marcel you there
He doesn't explain what to factor out of numbers
Help
@nimble nacelle
@nimble nacelle still there? class is over
yes
How do i find numbers that factor that number
what equation again?
didnt you watch the video i send you yesterday?
why are you scared..?
you are meant to ask him questions
and he has to answer them
yes
so you should be able to solve the problem now
