Heres another that i dont understand! When the exponent is a negative, what happens?
BTW!! DO NOT GIVE ME THE ANSWER!! My teacher teaches by showing an equation and giving the answer and i do not learn that way.
In the kindest way possible, please explain what to do and WHY u do it so that i understand it and can do it on every other question
$a\div \frac{b}{c} = a \times \frac{c}{b}$

I'll give you an example. 4x^35y^{-5}\cdot \frac{9x^27y^7}{4x^3y^{-4}} is an example problem
the first term, 4x^35y^{-5} simplifies to \frac{:4x^3}{5y^5} because 5y^{-5} has a negative exponent, meaning it gets brought down.
In the second term, u have dividing.
try to figure that one out using exponent laws.

I hate myself i feel so stupid for not knowing this
One of my guilty pleasures as a teacher is after my students complain that something is too easy and I tell them that they need more practice, and then it comes up a year later and I get to tell them that they should have studied more before, and also that this will happen again with the stuff they're currently studying.
But feeling stupid for not knowing something is always part of math. It's just that the "something" keeps moving forward, in general.
