I basically solved a complicated equation to reach this for a question about proof. Beyond this I am not sure how to reach the end goal. At first, I thought my answer was wrong but it isn't since if you count decimals for boths in calculator they equate yet they look completely different. Maybe some math guru sees it right away but I am unable to see the way.

Yes I can see how you could get stuck here

Perhaps try squaring both sides

Then try to get the left side to be the right side

Then squareroot to go back

this isn't an equation, what I am trying to say is that the right hand side is the correct answer that you should get to satisfy the proof. But I got the left hand side instead

Is there something that can be done to the left hand side alone such as conjugate or some other neat trick to make it exactly look like the right hand side?

Left side = sqrt[(left side)^2]

Then see if you can get it to look like the right side from there

Left side is actually more simplified in my opinion, so it is weird that they want it in a less simplified form

i mean worst case I just equate it directly, but then it feels like to me that some major steps are missing. But they are both equal at the end of the day
