So are you saying that any because it varies on the quadrant, that any of those negative degrees that fit match-45 degrees would work? For instance cos theta is -45, sin is -225 and tan is -135?

No as you simply start with 0 degree with positive x axis( anticlockwise)now here you have go from 0 degree to negative ( clockwise) direction.
