do you know how to multiply fractions?
3x-9=3(x-3) and x^2-9=(x+3)(x-3). (x-3) are cancelled then we get 1/6 * 12/(x+3) = 2/(x+3).

i got a different answer? $\frac{12\left(x-3\right)}{2\left(x+3\right)\left(x-3\right)}\to\frac{12}{2\left(x+3\right)}\to\frac{6}{x+3}$
