let jane's age = j, her brother's age = b
then you can establish a system of equations in terms of j and b
and solve for each of them
Whole equation pls
The Impostor
you should be able to understand these two equations
j=b+8: jane is 8 years older than her brother
(j+12)+(b+12)=46: after 12 years, jane's age plus her brother's age is 46
2x + 8 - 8 = 46
2x = 38
X = 19
doesnt +8 and -8 just cancel out?
the answer is 15 and 7
Read da wuestion
Yeah
ok
so there u go, j=15 and b=7
Ight

@latent river
So you understand these two equations right? @leaden cradle
Lol no
.
ok so
@leaden cradle
Mhm
j=b+8: jane is 8 years older than her brother
(j+12)+(b+12)=46: after 12 years, jane's age plus her brother's age is 46
Just type the whole thing xd
j = b+8 got this right
got it now?
so you are doubtful abt the second one right
after twelve years: each of them's age needs to be increased by 12
Yes
and jane is 8 years older than her brother -> j = b+8
j+12+b+12=46
so thats the two equations
Continue
you know j = b + 8
apply it in the second equation
instead of j in the second equation, you can write it in terms of "b"
(B+8) + 12 + (b + 12)
yes
Wow
Damn shit
and ure done
Thx alot man
np :)
haha
im 9th grade too lol
im 7th
LOL
Fbi open up
my god u seem to answer many questions that is greater than your age level
nice man
thanks
