Let's first do the shapes problem above.

#

To solve these types of problems, you have to make equations for each.

#

Here are the equations:

#

circle + circle = 10, which is 2(circle) = 10

#

circle + square + square = 12, which is circle + 2(square) = 12

#

circle x square - triangle x circle = circle

#

Try solving these equations for each shape (circle, square, triangle). Give me the answer when you are done.

@honest spear I’m confused

honest spear
#

like solving for a variable

honest spear
# barren hatch nope never

i highly encourage you to learn the basics of them and their terminology. this question uses those concepts, so u need to understand equations before solving this problem.

#

here are some helpful resources:

#

yes but these are shapes not variables

honest spear
#

yes but i made equations for each

#

and then u have to solve the equations

#

to solve for the value of each shape

barren hatch
#

circle = 5 ?

honest spear
#

what about these:

#

⭐ circle * square + square = 12, which is circle + 2(square) = 12
⭐ circle x square - triangle x circle = circle

barren hatch
#

circle + 2(square) = 12

#

do i follow pemdas for this

#

do i add circle +2

#

then

#

divide by 12

honest spear
#

wait sorry

#

whenever u solve an equation

#

u have to basically do the OPPOSITE of pemdas

#

so first you add/subtract

#

and then do multiplication/division

#

remember the goal is to isolate the variable you are solving for. in this case, the variable is square

barren hatch
#

7(square) =12

#

12/7 ?

honest spear
#

no sorry

#

i subtracted circle from both sides of the equation to isolate 2(square)

#

and then i divided both sides of the equation by 2 to further isolate square

barren hatch
#

oooh okay i was confused this makes sense

#

confused on the last part

#

5 x6 - triangle x 5 = 5?

barren hatch
#

Hey are you there?
