In the solution, why do they let C2 = C/2 instead of just keeping C/2?

Because they divided the equation by 2
There was no problem in just keeping it C/2

C is an arbitrary constant, so c/2 is also an arbitrary constant

usually you would just write C again because its implied that C is arbitrary, but here i think they dont want you to get confused about the C's
