The question is : What is the value of f when it approches x ?
You have to look in the graph at the coordinates given
How do I determine the coordinates?
lim x-> 0+ it's like find f(x) when x is very close of 0 by the right
Oh okay, I remember trying that earlier. I started having trouble with the ones that did not have a sign attatched, what should I do for the 0 without + or -?
Here it's not defined because the function isn't continuous
For x=0
But for x=1 it's the same
I am sorry I just realized there are 2 with 0, I meant c but I am also confused with what to do with d
Which does this apply to, d since 0 is in the x place?
Yes
Oh okay
So what I meant by c is that the thing at the bottom of where it says limit has no + or - attached, is it automatically positive?
And the right side?
No, if there no sign it's the one which is defined
So for example g would be 2 since that’s the number it’s going to?
Yes
Okay great
When it's continuous it's doesn't matter
Do these look okay so far?
d h l and q say “DNE”, I am sorry it kind of looks like “ONE”
The dotted lines mean that the curve does not cross it
Oh okay
For lim x-> 0 it's like f(0) because you don't know if it's 3 or -1
Same thing for lim x->-3
Alright, so the two would be DNE?
Oh okay. What rules are for r and s then? They are different because they are infinite?
Yes, you can do them with the dotted lines
It say that the curve will looking like a line at infinite
Ohh since they will never reach the dotted line the answers are correct because they will infinitely get closer but not touch the dotted line?
For exemple lim x->+inf =2
Oh it’s okay
Ohh I see it now
Does this look alright?
Also I’m sorry, I have to go, my tablet is dying and I am not home where my charger is. I will be back in an hour, will you still be available then to help finish this?
I will go to sleep i think
Oh okay, I will ask someone else then. Thanks so much for your help, I now understand this more
