are you familiar with tangent?

have you heard of sine and cosine before?
no i havnet im in like geometry in my highschool so i’m not really familiar with that so
okay so basically there are three functions which can be applied to right triangles
sine, cosine and tangent
Okay and what does that mean?
each one of them describe a ratio between certain sides of the triangle in regards to an angle
oh okay i understand now, the part i get confused with it when to add and subtract the congruent sides of the two triangles that overlap
and how to set the equation up properly
