#How do I solve for the a,b,c,d values of a rational function?

Well, we know that R(1) = (a + b)/(c+d) - 1 = 0
And R(4) = infinity, so that means 4c + d = 0
And if the horiz asymptote is -2 then that means that a/c = -1
Do they give you the co-ords of the y-intercept? @serene socket

Well, it looks like it's about -0.5
So I'm just gonna use that.
So that implies b/d = 0.5
So we just have to solve those equations.
okay, I did a bit of fiddling about and if I'm right about the -0.5 thing we get a = 1, b=2,c=-1, d=4
