3*3=64?
okay so i think you need to step back a bit
take a deep breath
and revise some of the earlier topics you studied
clearly your fundementals aren't sufficient to tackle such problems yet
ahhhhhh
i get it
8?
am i right
yes
okayyy
this is the example my teacher gave us earlier
i still don’t get it 😭
instructions not clear...
what instructions? 🥹
the ones that your teacher didn't write, lol
apparently you were expected to expand (x+15)^2 and (y-1)^2
ngl he's bad at explaining these
he also suggest to watch on yt if we don't get what he's saying
and he also don't explain it to us step by step he just put those numbers which made us confused

what problem are you getting?
the doubt's solved
The doubt is still pending I think
that was not a proper question.
they just had to expand which was not even mentioned in the problem.

i don’t understand what i’m supposed to do for question number 3
it just doesn’t make any sense w

Are you allowed to use calculator for specific values of \theta?
yes
Alright then use the inverse trig functions to get the exact values of \theta
Inverse trig functions are arcsin, arccos, arctan etc
Good
now that i have the angle
of 1.823
for the first point
how do i figure out the two angles on the unit circle tho
because i only have one
@next night Has your question been resolved?
?
i’ve been stuck on the problem number 3
im not good at trigonometry
and i got the angle
but i will look through it wait
and i’m not sure how to get the other angles
wait
thanks
lol thanks
i used the inverse trig function to figure out the exact radian angle of theta
but my question is telling me to find two angles
and idk what that means
@mystic veldt
yeh..
;-;
im sorry idk
if i get the answer i will mention u and send answer
so that u get the notification

i had
a small doubt
integral as infinite sum
i understand how the 3rd expression forms
by putting b=1 and a =0 but how does the 4th expression form?
i think there's something written after 'where'
Dyssrupt
how did you understand the 3rd?
.
.
.
could u show it

Hey, my statistics is pretty bad but I got a simple question I think.
So there is a lottery with a Grand Prize every year, how likely is it that this prize will get drawn after 6 months already or only in 2 years or 3 years? No other prizes or multiple people, let's say just 1 x 1/365 chance every day.
so there's a 1/365 chance every day that it gets drawn
and you want to know what's the chance that it gets drawn at least once in:
- 6 months
- a year
- two years?
easiest way to do this is to think about the chance that it doesn't get drawn in that time
Ah, so 1 minus something, right?
My naive thinking would be that half a year would be like 50% because, idk, just thinking and that is probably wrong xD
which means it has to not get drawn every single day, so what's the chance that it doesn't get drawn on each day?
yeah but if you think about like rolling a 🎲 6 times you won't always see a 4 one time
364/365 is the chance!
But how do I translate that into months/years? xD
Sorry, Probability is not my strong suite
yeah that's fine, so if the prize has a 364/365 chance of surviving every day
then the chance of it surviving for six months is just that to the 183rd power
(or however many days you think six months should be)
LoL, can it be rly that simple, other stuff got me rly confused, like sometimes you multiply, sometimes you take the X power.
Gotta check my text book again!
Thank you!
yeah probability is kind of tricky! it's often helpful to think about really small cases
so like imagine it were a 1/2 chance every day
that sort of thing

100j_hat times t^2 = 200i_hat
how do i find t?
t is a vector?
No value of t can make this equality true
kx i_hat is not equal to y j_hat for any k in F
that means i made wrong equation
Yeah probably
this was the ques 1
and this is what i did
i dont think i did anything wrong
you can just re check my vector calculation
and tell if i did something wrong
Ahh you don't have i_hat and j_hat after the dot product
It's scalar product
So it should be -200 + 100(t^2) = 0
(a i_hat + b j_hat).(c i_hat + d j_hat) = ac + bd
yeah now the ans is matching
oh yeah, a vector dot product b vector is a.b cos \theta
Yeah it's a scalar (element of a field)

i understand my problem with the second question but the first is stumping me
y is in thousands
if you divide everything by 1000 in the first 2 answers i believe youll be fine
change 494000 to 494
why?
y is in thousands, so when y=494 that corresponds to a population of 494000
i’m sorry i’m not understanding what ur saying
could u please envision yourself explaining this to a 3rd grader
the starting point is 494000 why make it 494??
y=494000(10.3)^t
in the question, it says 'the population y (in thousands)', this means that a unit of y is 1000, for example if y=1, that means a population of 1000, if y=494 that is a population of 494000. So when writing out your equation for y, although the population at the start is 494000, in terms of y that would be 494 instead
actual population = y *1000
ohhhh so just 494
yeah
no worries

I am currently working on part three and need a little assitance setting it up, but I would also like the first two parts checked as well
If at all possible
what is troubling you with setting up 3
I think I am second guessing myself, but I think I also just set up the integral correctly based on the information that was given to me in the problem.
how did you set it up?
do you know the value of the function when c > x?
I was only told that x>=c
I would need to integrate from c to infinity?
yep, thats the range on which the function is defined
Darn it, I'll try it from there and come back if I get stuck.
Thank you for the help setting it up!

how should i approach this problem
remvoe all the powers of 10
like put them all on one side where you can ignore them for a moment
focus on the other ones
so i don't need to worry about them for now?
2.654?
Also, may I ask if you need to worry about significant figures?
(you can do this because all we're doing here is multiplying and dividing; if we had any addition or subtraction going on that would be different)
this is scientific notation
no
if the exponent is in the denominator you subtract
if it's in the numerator, you add
6-5
so the answer is 2.654x10^1 ?
Yes
oh ok thx
?
yes

Yes
How about if 5alpha/2
I think they mistyped
not your job to correct their typos
No but suppose
If it is 5a/2 how do we do it
I still want to give this practice question a try
do you know how to find the area of a sector generally
why not write 1/2 r^2 theta
Yes
or r^2 theta/2 for even less symbols
anyway
yes you are right
write out the areas of both sectors and equate the second one to 90% of the first one
Like this right?
yes
How do I find alpha?

I am not getting the same answer as the answer sheet
trying to figure out where I went wrong.
My thought was to find the sector CAB including the white triangle. Then minus the area of the white triangle.

ok so
there is maximisation problem of max of π (profit) = p*y - wL(y) - rK <- ignored
so condition is derivation must be 0
and i calculate
this my result
where is the question?
both chat gpt and photomath give me different result
i mean this is what i calculated
what question you think?
hmmmmm
i dont understand
This is Labour as function of production
This is maximisation problem with first order condition that derivation of this all must be 0
I set problem like this
and this how i solved
guys
can someoen tell me
if i made mistake here?
or its nice?

Please help
I’ve tried everything but This division is too difficult for me
I get stuck after the two 11
I don’t understand long division I’ve watched a video and doesn’t help
long division is lowkey hard
Yea it’s confusing, in elementary I never learned
yeah, it's a lot of steps
I'd say first write out your 83 times table up to 9
157-83
Yeah
?
Oh wait ya
157-83
is 74
so thats the step after
wait are you doing remainders
or decimals
Remainder
Do I subtract 83
how many times does 83 go into 746
because 83 times 10 is 830
9
Oh 8
So then suptract that
Yea
damn thats just painful
ok so i would 80 times 8
with is 640
and then 3 times 8
which is 24
so 664
664+6= 670
670+30= 700
700+46= 46
46+30=76
76+6= 82
thats just how i would do that in my head
Yes
how many times does it fit
And subtract
this one is easy
Oh 8?
.
9
IM SORRRYY
😭😭
103
Oh ok hold on
747+100 = 847
83?
yes
Huzzuh
11 R76?
1189?
Thx so much bro
the other two digits dont drop
.
Ohhh yea
One more question sorry
If it’s allowed
I just don’t understand like how u get the x and stuff
Like uuuh
I don’t even understand this

So do I like uhhh
On C do I multiply 867 by 289
Knowing your times table is useful
Yea I kinda do
No
I know 9x9
I don’t actually nvm
For C and G, you can do long division, or if you know your times tables, you can make guesses
Oh ok opposite operations
And D and H you can just use multiplication
So like 40x 15 for D?
Ooooh ok
I can already tell you B and E are wrong
Oh
I’m sorry for being terrible in math
In elementary and middle school I would get bullied everyday and it was extremely hard to concentrate
And now picking it back up is difficult too
But I’m trying really hard now
so long as you're making a genuine effort and don't get frustrated, that's all we ask
Yes 3 - 2 = 1
That means the ones digit is a 2
Apply that logic to the tens place
7 minus what equals 4?
3
Now the hundreds, 6 minus what equals 2?
4
So your answer for B is?
And you can check it, check and see if 673 - 432 = 241
For C, it's easy too, you don't really need division
You have the work given that makes it easy
Do you understand the concept of multiplication?
Basically the process in C
Like I’m just not great at big numbers
If you had all the numbers given
Where you do the ones digit of the multiplier times the multiplicand, then you add that zero, then do the tens digit of the multiplier, and so on
That process
Where I took the ones digits, multiplied them, and if it's greater than 10, then you write down the ones digit, carry the tens. And if you have a two digit number, you add in that padding zero (blue zero)
And continue that process
Ok uuuuh
Do you understand that process?
Sorry
No I don’t
Welcome to 2-Digit Multiplication: A Step-By-Step Review (Multiplying by a 2-Digit Number) with Mr. J! Need a refresher on double digit multiplication? You're in the right place!
Everyone needs a refresher from time to time, so this video is for you if you're looking for help with how to multiply by a 2-digit number. Mr. J will go through a 2-d...
I suggest viewing that
Yea I know multi digit, I’m not sure how to incorporate it into the question
Because the numbers you multi digit multiply by are xx
That's what I was asking, do you know the concept of multiplication
Because what I'm trying to point out is the green circles are related to each other, correct?
Yea
So for the green circle, 9 times what would result in a potential 7 in the ones place?
3? Cause 27
Yes
YIPEE
Now same process for the red circle
9 times what would result in 6 in the ones place?
9x4=36
So what do you think those x's would be now?
76
Because the ones place for 7 and 6 and you put them together I don’t know
Ooooooopoh
It’s 34?
Not quite
Math hurts my brain sometimes
😞
The green circle was where we started first, and I asked 9 times what would result in a 7 in the ones place, and you said 3, that green circle is the ones place, therefore 3 is in the ones place
Oh ok and now I need to figure out the tens place
You already did
Oh
.
.
No
It was the same process for the green circle that we did, but applied to the red circle
There's two x's
.
Uuhhh oh your right
36
No
9 times what would result in 6 in the ones place?
The "what" represents the x
What did you say the "what" was?
3
No wait
Yeah
Hold on I gotta rewind
4
So the sends would be 4
And ones 3
So it’s 43?
YIPPPE!
Do 289 x 43 to check
Okokok
Omg
Ur so smart
I aspire to be you
Ok now I need to use that same process for g
So would it be 2x4 for the ones place
So 8
That one is a slightly harder process
Tbh for that one, it might be easier to do the long division with 36864 and 72
Ok I will do that
Crap I put the wrong 30000 number whoops
I don’t think I did this correctly
Yes
So can 72 go into 3?
If you do 72 * 4, what do you get?
So now you have something like this, right?
Yes
Subtract the 368 and 360
Bring down 6
86
I always mess up after this
And then I have no idea what to do
1 time
So you write one at the top
72 under the 86
No
You take that digit, the amount times it went into that number times 72
How many times does 72 go into 144?
And no more numbers to bring down
144 at the bottom
Subtract the two, first, before do this step
And 0 is my remainder
Yes, so the number at the top is your answer
Thank you so much.. I think I finally understand long division
So then, for xxx my answer is 512?
Yes
Tusk
Tysm *
I have one more equation on my sheet, it’s in division
I’ll try on my own and then text if I need help
Try that and send your work
Okay
I’m close but I missed something in the tens digit
But, I am getting better
And I am very grateful, thank you
Why did write 2 in the tens place, in your answer but you wrote 21 at the bottom? Because 7 x 2 = 14, not 21
Yeah
I guess I did it too fast
But I do understand long division now, for the most part
I just need to practice more
This next question confused me but I think i understand it
3572 divided by something (xx) will give me 63 with a remainder of 44
It's a bit easier than you think
This sheet is due tomorrow, along with another one 😪 I don’t know what to do.. the school week has just begun and I’m behind in math
Really?
You remember the process of long division, on taking the number to the very left (in that practice problem I gave, it was the 7) and you multiply it by that digit at the top?
Yeah
Then you write that result on the bottom
You have 336, which digit at the top what used to multiply for 336?
63?
Which digit from the 63 was used to multiply with the divisor to get 336?
6?
Yes
So that means 6 times the divisor got 336
So that means you can do 336 divided by 6 to get that divisor
No
Oh right!
Thanks so much
I understand now, I will just need to practice more often
Could I screenshot these messages for future reference?
Sure

what have you done so far
All I did was times the 8 3 times
Where I got 513
Heyy
but i need a little help with physics
Your in the wrong channel
thanks
513-233
280
@cunning trench
you shouldnt need the 513 (idk how you calculated it)
233 is the total area of the small and large square added together
the small square you work out by doing length times width
so 8 x 8

Can someone help show how to get 5/8 from (5 * 1/2c)/4
I'm really not sure how they get to this conclusion
5 * 1/2 * 1/4 = 5/8
feel like im missing something here
trying to do the same thing with 2pi/3 i get it wrong
if i replace pi with 1/2c as i did here and do
(2 * 1/2C)/3
2 * 1/2 * 1/3
same problem different numbers
simplified
wlep
i just went thro the entire text and they never showed how to do this
math makes me sad
ty tho
find the fraction of the circumference of the unit circle
you talk about this as if it is a special procedure specifically for circles
it's not
you know that the circumference of a full circle is 2pi
what fraction of 2pi is 2pi/3
does the answer not lie on the surface
not to me no
what fraction of 2pi is 2pi**/3**
sounds like you need more practice with fractions specifically
i do but unforunately i do not have said time for that between all my classes
💀
sooo i tried doing sin (12/13) in the calculator got 0.797
seems like it wants a fraction what steps am i missing?

i know i need to set up the resulting vector but i dont know how to actually set it up

Do you know how to calculate weight from N?
anyway you have the force, 20N, you have the angle of 37. You can calculate the horizontal force by F*sin(angle)
use that and the gravity to get N

So When I was doing this question. I assumed that every letter can be used one. Which means, even the repeating are allowed to be used, thus giving us a total of 7 letters to use. With that in mind, I did the quesion in 2 cases.
Case 1: 4 Letters
7x6x5x4 = 840
Case 2: 5 Letters
7x6x5x4x3 = 2520
But the answer to the whole question is 1800. I dont get how it would be one answer, and even if that was the case, how it was acheived
The problem here is you have to factor in the two Es
Because ACHE and ACHe are the same (Es are in different cases for emphasis)
so, 7!/(2!)? type of format
hmm, ok one sec
the question becomes easier once you start with the amount of words that can be formed with A C H I E V E'
where E' is a different letter
7! ?
And then consider when E and E' are both used
7! / 2! ?
not of length 4 or 5
oh, like 4! / 2! vs 5! / 2!?
Uh let's start with a different question
So how many words of length 4 can you make with the word A C H I E V E' ?
yes exactly (put a backslash \ before * to stop it from making italic)
okok
ummm... do we divide by 2?
not now
2/7 of tyhe words?
im like blanking. But i need to understand for an exam haha. Let me see:
840 words.
2 E's
7 words.
2/7 of the words will have both?
okok
okok
No you're right it's 2/7 my bad
okok
840 words
Case 1: 1 E, meaning 1/7
Case 2: 2 E meaing 2/7?
1 E is not 1/7 here
So actually it's easier to consider first how many words have neither E nor E' in them
alright let me wrtite this down and try
woah woah woah haha
let me see how you got this, stats making me confused
I think I'm not in my right mind today XD
It's 1/7 sorry
(5 x 4 x 3 x 2)/(7 x 6 x 5 x 4)
huh
is this better?
but whats the asnwe?
that's the final answer with length 5 as well, we're not here yet
Ok
So out of the 720 words with at least E or E' in them
we can swap E by E' and vice versa and get back to the "same" word
ngl, i got 840 originally for 4 letters as well
ok
swapping will do what?
make it, one E?
So when we don't distinguish E and E', we're overcounting those words exactly once
So there are exactly 360 words we can make with at least one E
is this part alright for you?
yes
Alright, so the real total number of words of length 4 is?
we want to make sure its not overcounting
well, if the total is 840 by overcounting, then 420?
or 360 for single E
im actually lost haha
no, this is missing the point of what we just did, the other 120 words aren't overcounted!
120 + 720 becomes 120 + 360
exactly!
and then repeat for 5 letters?
yep, the same thing applied for 5 letters, ping me if you're having trouble reapplying the same logic
I don't think this is it for length 5
would it not be 600
