So working on b
Basically did this with 2.9m/s^3 as ax, 10s as the top t, and initial V as 0
Im guessing its that time is ^3 that im missing something but im unsure

I've got a question on my homework, it's the limit of the function int(x) (the parent integer function, not an integral) as x-> 1/2
My book says there's a left and right hand limit but that's because at each integer, the line of the function moves up by one (it looks like a stair)
What in getting at is, do I have to worry about both the left and right limits or am I good because they're the same?
For any function you always need to consider left and right
Step functions are definitely ones where it matters
If you go to where you switch stairs
The values are different from left and right
Butty if you're in between
Yeah, that part makes sense, but in my case, the limit is in the middle of one of the steps, not on the shift
I saw It again I got It right there is no mistake on It, what I should have done is to devide to 2 in the last expression so it would be log x = 3^1/2 which means root of 3
Ok, thanks
i just stayed with 2.logx = 3 log 3
Oh ok great glad you figured it out
me too thanks haha i wawas freaking out
just realized having dinner

does the c value have to be within the interval?
@gleaming dome Has your question been resolved?
It says it must be
oh wait 1 - sqrt3/3 is within the interval
ONE MORE QUESTION THO
ik my answer isn't correct
But how would it be any of these answers?
I added the first two intervals as it is since f(x) is within an abs val'
Did they say anything else about f?
Heres the graph
from [-5,4]
I'd assume that the interval from -4 to 3 would be negative
but the absolute value made me think otherwise
What did you get when you added the 2
thats 61
is E correct?
That's what i got

@frank sable Has your question been resolved?
You just want to pick y between x and 1
There's a fairly natural way to pick a number between two numbers
@frank sable ?
If I give you two numbers a and b, can you give me a number in between?
...which one?
Sure, what is that in terms of a and b?
Yes
Also called the mean or average
What's a number between x and 1?
ā
Because it says y is in [0;1) so y < 1, and the point is to have y > x too
So x < y < 1
Into y = (x+1)/2, yeah
Can you write (x+1)/2 differently?
ā
Yes
Exactly

Can you define "end behavior?"
and yeah, you're supposed to wait 15 minutes before pinging.
It's a pretty big problem, and I actually turned off pings because so many people weren't following the rules.
end behavior refers to a behavior of a function as the input values approach positive or negative infinity. this is what i have in my notes
i get that wont happen again
ok, so, taking C for instance
as t goes to negative infinity what happens to f(t)?
what about g(t)?
so f(t) decreases approaches negative infinity
g(t) increases, approaches positive infinity
they dont share the same end behavior
so uhh
you are correct that they do not share the same end behavior
but nothing else was correct.
i'm thinking D now

How do I do any of this
rate of change of displacement gives u velocity
What is rate of change of displacement
Wait really??
So this whole thing is just a fancy way of saying find the derivative?
@runic heath Has your question been resolved?
How do I do part 3?
I thought itās 0 cuz itād be -32(0) which would be 0
But they said height is 0 not velocity
But whatās height
I solved that
The height is zero in this case which means your position is 0
You solve for y haha
Good job
Which part
-16t^2+256t
I need to solve for y again like when the ball hits the ground
In the previous part I moved t^2 to the other side of the equation
But here I have both t^2 and t
Youāre looking for what time the position is zero?
Yes
You can use completing the square or quadratic formula
C=0?
Yes
@runic heath Has your question been resolved?
Ohh itās vertex
It asks for maximum height not when it touches the ground lol
So x1+x2/2
16+0/2
8

,rccw
oops
i think the answer is D?
so youre drawing a circle on a graphing paper
and the origin is 0,0
there are 4 points that it touches
on the graph
is there more context
not at all
thats just the question
im telling you what i am thinking and asking if i am right
so if a circle has a radius of say 1
the circle can be graphed
(0,1) , (-1,0) , (0,-1) and (1,0)
"given that all points on the circle are the same distance from the origin" is probably the dumbest thing iāve heard today
and the one on top is (0,1)
like no kidding itās a circle centered at the origin.
Exactly
So the unit circle
this question is stupid
there has to be more context
two points are on the positive y axis lol
they donāt say anything about the radius
whoās to say whether the radius is 3sqrt(2),3,10,2,9,69 etc
no context
sorry i took a weird pic
no problem
ok
yea there are two answers
B and D?
so its 0, and the positives
x=0 is the y axis
thats what i was thinking
ty
but if i had to guess, im thinking 3 radical2 cant be graphed by their logic
to round it down for one answer
they have no logic
they said "given that all points on the circle are the same distance from the origin" lol
but if i had to pick one lol
what logic
you donāt
Pick both and make a complaint
whoever wrote this question is horrible at math
lmao

last question!! I need help on this then Iām done for tonight
what have you tried?
nothing. Iām super confused, Iām thinking about trying to divide b to isolate it and then dividing v or something
Iām not really sure
you are on the right track
o I mean h not b
now you are on the wrong track
you are given the formula of the volume is
I have no idea um what u are talking about I just started freshman year idk how to do math
i didnt know theres a separate server for en pjsk
WHAT
HOW DI U RECOGNIZE THAT

cuz i play it too?
oooh cool!!!!
anyway, the thing you said about isolating h is correct
get h to one side and everything else to the other side
divide B
cus then I could get vh or something and divide v
yes, and now get the 1/3 to the other side too
multiplying by 1/3 is dividing by 3
Vx1/bx3? or like plus or minus
ooooh
but I already have a fraction how do I divide that
what i meant is these 2 things are completely the same
how do you solve for $x$ in $\frac x 3=6$?
overcomplicated
okay well idk what to dooooo
wait so
So that you get rid of the 3 at the denominator and you only have x left
so
so we can get the sure value of x and not x / 3
wrong
3v/b = x
okay
right now you are having h/3 = V/B
cause you multiplied both sides by 3
what did you not understand
.everything
nah nah you're good bro š
why wouldnāt it be v/b = h
if ur getting rid of 1/3
by multiplying
what
AUGHH
you cant get rid of the 1/3 without balancing it out right so if you multiply 3 on the right hand side of the equation you have to multiply on the left hand side as well
on the right hand side it becomes 3/3 = 1
on the left hand side it stays as it is cause there's no 3 in the denom to make it 1
ok I donāt understand how that makes it wrong
sigh
I mean itās js homework idrcā¦
AAAAAAAA
ughhhhhh
why is math so complicated
if you multiply one side of the equation by smth you NEED to multiply the other side of the equation by the same thing
its called an equation for a reason cause both sides have to be balanced
imagine a weighing scale if you put 2 other bananas on one side you need to put an equal amount on the other side to keep it equal
hence the term "equation"
Yes
but did you get how š
why does b magically switch tho???
wdymm
how'd it magically switch bro
b is b
base
have they not taught you algebra in school?
sigh idk
I donāt know whatās happening
I just spawned
so do I divide by 3 next
Iām. so confused
how the flip would I isolate h then
UGHH
I wanna go to bed
and thereās a part 2
I thought this would be a quick last quesiton
question
help meeeeeeee
wait
do I didvide b
wait why am I smart
omg
I do divide b donāt I
omg Iām such a pro
so is it 3v/b=h
ok idc if thatās wrong im done
itās right in my world
Iām done
Iām so smart
I think

Hello, I was reading a proof from a textbook and the second to last line in the image attached is kinda confusing me, could someone explain how this is a valid step?
the inequality comes from this, but I dont see how the sqrt() isnt also taken within the expectation by this logic of using jensen's inequality
@warm phoenix Has your question been resolved?
They do the square power first using Jensen's, then square root both sides
Square root is monotonic

not sure how to do this gang
Uhhh this is a terrible answer but like use ur brain
when the jug is wider slope of line is smaller, when the jug is thinner slope of line is higher
ex 64 water height is increasing at a constant rate
so just a linear function
on the answer key, 63 is a cubic function almost
thats stupid it should start where the water is already drawn

Is this correct? If it isnt correct, my science teacher is wrong.
Which one?
which one bro
I mean... looks fine? Is there some reason you think one of these is wrong?
My teacher thinks everything is wrong
Maybe you need to write it in scientific notation for all of them?
No
My answer is wrong based on my teacher
I do NAHT know how or why
My scientific calc also says its right
For example, no.2
7.8 x 10 ^32
i dont know how that is correct
Are your conversion rates correct?
i have never seen an exa being used
Ye
But still
I need a professional
Who can check if my answers are right or wrong ehe
My teacher MIGHT be stupid

Hi layla
hello
Yes

Yea
YEAHH
š
i already used so much diff calculators to defend
she still wont accept my defense
Ahh yes, 780000000000000000000000000000000terabytes is definitely 780 exabytes
Yea
LMAO
can u create a
Solution which i will show to my teacher in order to defend my answers
it's always the science teachers telling you that your calculations are wrong š
my teacher legit told me my calculator was broken even though i did it in front of her like 5 whole ass times
YEA EXACTLY AGAIN
Tell her to convert 7.8x10^32 terabytes to exabytes on the calculator
can yall create a so.ution in orde for me to defend my snswers
She doesnt use a
Calculator
Shes some idiotic smart ahh
Show her on computer
āIts hard to argue against a smart person, but its even harder to argue against an stupid personā type shi
I dont have computwr rn š
write on paper pls
Bro itās exactly what you wrote
Huh
e
that's her job though not yours...
Guys i dont think 780 = 7.8*10^26
me neither dawg
You literally showed your work on paper theres nothing else to prove
Its not bruh
lets see
My teacher is abt to do it again
I asked her to show
Hold on
its still raised to 32
WHAT
We are not looking for no tera-exabyte bruh
your teacher is quite something...
Where did the 780 go how did it turn into 7.8
mhm

I need help with sequence and series
i can do the basic adding and subtracting but i dont know how to use the formulas
G10 here
@wet bison Has your question been resolved?
Can you post a question youāre struggling with, I can try to help but I might be a bit rusty @wet bison
I have no idea wth an S is. I was keeping up the first month but when teacher pulled out find ratio this sum that i had no idea what ws happening around
I believe Sn is referring to the sum of the series up to the n-th place
so for example if the series was 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and you were told to found $S_{3}$ then $S_{3}=1+2+3$ as 1,2,3 are the first 3 elements in the series
make any sense?
epi
No whats that?
So S3 is basically a3?
Or s3 means i gotta add the first three terms
1+2+3= 6
s3=6??
What is nth?
Nth is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, ⦠value of n

can someone help with this
im not sure where to start
also regulation = the ax+b thing, its google translated
,rccw
Do you know how to solve a linear equation in 1 variable?
im slow in math
Oh np
ehh can you give an example, english isnt my first alnguage so im not sure what you mean
You have f(t) = 1150 + 3.5*t
yes
f (8)=1150+3.5*8?
do we have to keep the f in
?
in the beginning of the equation
Yes
does it stand for function?
Meaning t is a variable in this
yes
So did you complete this part?
putting the 8's in? then yes
danish
Ohh
doesnt help with my lack of math skills
For this you are given f(t) = 1200
yes
And we know that f(t) is 1150 + 3.5*t
yeah
Do you see where this is going?
ohh
Which is basically the same thing
but its an 8 now?
From the above 2 things we can say that 1150 + 3.5*t = 1200
I don't think so
so we dont change it to 8's?
im confused:(
No
hmm
See
F(t) is 1150 + 3.5t
And according to the part f(t) is 1200
So 1150 + 3.5t is 1200
i think i understand, but just to be sure, what part are you speaking about?
the next task?
Second part
or did you solve
b)
wait what were the answers
yes i understand
can you maybe guide me tho
just to be sure
we have the equation and i need to solve it
Were you able to simplify this?
8=1150+3.5*8?
What is the value of 1150 + 3.5*8?
1200?
No
What is 8*3.5?
?
1178?
okey
Are you ok with this?
thank you for your patience btw
im still a bit confused to be honest:(
Ohh
Well let's see it like this
A cookie jar has 10 cookies
Every day 2 are eaten
So we can say that number of cookies will be 10 - 2*x
?
Ok so now tell me after how many days
5?
4 cookies will be left
That is correct but for when no cookies left
CORRECT
We are doing the same thing
Instead somehow the number of cookies is increasing by 3.5
And initially we have 1150 cookies
yes okay
How does this feel?
what we did now?
no:(
Oh lol
For such things you should separate the variables and constants
Can you tell me what the variables and constants are in this?
arent the variables the unknowns?
so t?
Yes 3.5t
oh
And constant?
1150?
And?
1200..?
Yes
what exactly are constants
So now let's keep variables and constants on seperate sides
Numbers that don't change like 5
Basically numbers are constants and letters are variables
yes
Yes
so we have to move it?
Yeah
what would you do
I would move
what would it look like
You should tell me
hm okay
You are very smart lol
sorryyyy:,)))
this right?
Yes
wait shouldnt it be 1150 on both sides
Yes correct
=
Instead of +
oh
Yes
do i devide 50 with 3.5?
Yes absolutely
ah
This means that the bamboo will be 1200 on 14.29 days
Lol
š
wait and what was the meaning of 3.5
Should we move to the c) part?
yeah:(
Can you send the ques again?

Any way of computing the above without taking ages?
I think our professor mentioned changing the "t" parameter with an "s"
but we didn't finish the whole thing

help
multiply by alpha^(m-n) to the top and bottom
Yep exactly
That's almost correct
Now you only have to do lim alphaā0 of that
You'll have to distinguish among 3 cases:
- n = m
- n > m
- n < m
i understand that first is 1
i didnt get next
bc alpha approaches to +0
who can explain
This is just a typo
i guess too

They have the same fractional part?
设käøŗč°ę£ę“ę°means k is positive integer
Yeah their fractional part, or in other words the values after the decimal is same
No problem
Do you understand this language?
Yeah I think it can be made into square
(1 + sqrt(2) )^2
The form of sqrt a +sqrt b squared
Ya
Our teacher told us to use
a+b=3
ab=2

Hi I need help on this question
After being painted, a solid wooden cube whose edge is 4cm long is cut into 64 small cubes. How many of these small cubes have at least two painted faces?
I don't get how to get the number of painted 3 faces and 4 faces
But I know that there can be 24 for the 2 faces
the only cubes with 3 painted faces are the corners
Oh
So how many would that be
4ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦
how many corners (vertices) are there in a cube?
eight?
HEHEH I TROLLED LOL
oh
yes
I still don't get the question in general
A cube thatās 4 cm,
To be honest thatās js extra info
You just have to know itās been cut in 64 pieces.
Which means that since this is a cube, L=B=H
So you can take cube root of 64 to find that the base would be 4x4. So that particular face would have 4 corners, 4 with 3 sides being shaded.
But for 2 sides being shaded, itās simply the edge of the face. 4 on top, 4 below and 2 inbetween the left and right sides. Total of 12.
So in total you should have 32 cubes with atleast 2 sides shaded.
Hm. How did you get 24?
Did you exclude the corners with 3 shaded sides?
Lemme
Wait I don't get what u mean by "4 with 3 sides being shaded"
yea yea yea
The corners have 3 sides shaded.
64 cubes
So the blue face will have 12 cubes with atleast 2 colours right?
yes
The opposite side of the cube, opposite the blue would have 12 as well. 24.
Now you have to count the remaining sides
8
ohhhhh
