shit
ayo i know vacation school sucks but chaaaaaaaaaaaail man it's fine
no
My fathers
thinking
that i passed all
they allready paid
you've got the idea of finding the area and the perimeter so why the panic
for a vacation in Santa Marta
cause the teacher
its
kinda
he says that
If there's no process
there is no good answer
its only 1 exercise
so its a 0-100
well i think that you found the area and the perimeter of the small oct
that isn't a 0
but thats kinda easy
the external
is
hard
no
if he gave you the right amount of information you could've easely found the big one
there's not info man
it can't be helped
and
i know that every one have their own interests in life, but i think that one of the biggest keys to get a good score in math is by loving it, rather than trying so hard to solve equations
go ahead
I love it
or no
but I try to
lets see something
there is the following info
to make an octagon
there are 8 sides
so It will be
45
per angle
thats the inner angle
so
the apothem makes a 90 degree angle
with the other part of the triangle
45/2
is
22.5
so there will be another angle
so in the first triangle
I need a chart
and your help
my internet is dying
fuck
yes?
what're you doing ?
we already descussed that
we found the area and the perimeter of the small one
the prob is the biggest one
can you tell me what exactlly are you trying to find ?
ok so
I deduced
that
some triangles
...
wait
8
there are 8 triangles inside the oct
this part
yeah
can be found
how's that ?
ok so
you can't
like
the apothem
with the angles
we divide
that triangle
in 2 parts
I got it
:D
... you know . i though that you could do that part by yourself ya know ?
the better thing
that I can do rn
Is
killing my self
even though
thanks for all bro
you're better that the other ones here
any like you tried to help me
thanks
ayo man you're messy life isn't equal to a messy octagon
there is only one solution
you're not an octagon
then just become an octagon ?
yes
I am sexually atracted to hexagons now
not octagons
CAUSE ITS SO FUCKING
ANOYNG
Yeah man that's what i'm talking about
ayo you previously declared that you're 8 grader
that means that you're in the middle of the worst period in your life
yes
JAJA
SO
THERE IS HELL
AND I MIGHT LIVE IT RN
depression, hating life, wanting to die and so
I love life
what are you talking abt
*bipolar
what i'm talking about is that spending you're life in santa marta that has a coast doing math is better than spending it in the middle of a desert doing nothing and watching your youth dying in front of you
maaaaaaaaaaaaan that's getting deep
don't let some fart-like teacher take the joy of life from you
hexagons aren't attractive, and so the octs.
JAJAJAJ
true
?
yeah even though i think that teenagers don't need pshychologists that's a loos of money, just let them grow and their problems will grow bigger and slowly they'll start to realize that their previous promblems were stupid
I'll be here
yehhhhhhhhhh
good vibes
thxs for all bro
like
for real
youre a great person
and a great mathematician
take care
if you need something tell me dawg
ly
good to hear

How so you find a product of prime factors using index notation
For example 60
isn't index notation just the factored number with primes raised to powers?

how should i go about finding these distances
use the distance formula. It works in 3d space as well, you just do a third $z$ term:
$\\\sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2 + (z_2 - z_1)^2}$

What step are you on?
1. I don't know where to begin
2. I have begun but got stuck midway
3. I got an answer but I'm told it's wrong
4. I got an answer and would like my work checked
5. I have a question about someone else's worked solution
6. None of the above
I'm getting 8 as well.
cos(47) is about 0.68199836006
6 / 0.68199836006 = 8.79767511384 --> 8
it' rounding to the nearest integer
technically it should be 9 not 8
but I guess they're rounding down
so the thing to realize that this is a special triangle (iso).
Find the missing side of one of the triangles and multiply by 2
I would actually use tan
mostly because we rounded our answer for x so we might get some skewed results
as long as you don't mean the already established x on the triangle then yes
we're basically looking for y/2
no no dont' use x in this case
for this reason
look at this
look at this
we can use tan(47) = 6/z
solve for y
sorry I meant z
y represents the whole length
we're looking for z then multiplying by 2
z here represents 1/2 of the triangle
yep exactly
you could just directly sub in y/2 for z OR you can multiply z by 2 later on
same thing
Closed by @scarlet thistle

wait I'm getting 11 lol
β
tan(47) = 6/z
ztan(47) = 6
z = 6/tan(47)
z = 5.59509051683
y/2 = 5.59509051683
y = 11.1901810337
lol no worries!

Are every piecewise defined functions discontinuous?
No: consider f(x) where f(x) = x if x β 0 and f(x) = 0 if x = 0
yes this does count as βpiecewise definedβ

Hi can someone check my answer for this
These 2
9^2
That is correct, assuming your calculation is correct
,w solve 2264113-pi3232*11
OMG I DID IT WRONG AGAIN
For the first one i didnt find the height for pythagoras
Oooooos
Oops
slant height?
Yeah
you calculated that correct previously as sqrt(405)
whoops
ping me if you are stuck
what have you assumed as x
?
Yeah your answer is correct
Ok i have another question soo soz im just stressed cuz my exams coming up
Is this right?
Yes
factorise
Do you understand the terms in the question?
you for got to factorise 6/21
IM CONFUSED
pronumeral?
um
australia?
also you forgot to simplify 6/21
/3
so
3 goes into both of them
2/7
only because a quick search gave me this
wtf what do u call it in ur country
oh thats what people talk about when theu say variable
it is actually in the bracket
you cant actually do anything other then plug in all given info
well you did that
expand it
And make right hand side become 0
did i expand this right
yes
make right hand side become 0
this
ok
And subtract both side by 231
done
thats weird
why
y is it worded like that
?
um
general formula of the final answer
idk mt teacher showed me a visual example
it was like
a big fat square
and 2 rectanges on the side
idk
i ofrgot
ok
in high school we usually find the vertex of a quadratic equation
by completing the square
but thats not important
let me find it to you
Ok
I DID THAT π‘π‘π‘π‘π‘π‘
No
the answer is not in that form
the final answer should be like the step 3 in your calc
I JUST COPIED MY TESCHER ππππ
its not easy way its WRONG way
πππππππππππππππ
I GOT IT RIGHT IN MY LAST TEST THOUGH
Tho the answer is right but the step is completely wrong
it will be 0 mark in our school
cuz the first step is already wrong
yes tho the answer is right but
i think she said we're gonna go deeper into it next year
i cant see sense of math
but now we learn simple
ok
let me tell you how to use the right method
otherwise your math sense will gone
i believe you understand how to expand (a+b)^2
freshmanβs dream error
ok your choice
you learned a wrong method
nvm im lost again help pls
.
WE GOT 1 MIN PER QUESTION
then how can you dont know how to do this
oh its using the double angle theorem
but idk how to apply it
wiat let me try ok
look at the red angle
s
SHOW
you fixed one error but didnt fix another one
BTUHHHHHHSHAHRHEHEURHEHEUEHR
$360^o-(2x+28^o)$
MochaOhwelp
This kind of mistakes can be deadly
Before that cancel the first step
wat
cancel the first step first
ummm i dont get wut u mean
erase the first line
MochaOhwelp
MochaOhwelp
and congrat, you done it
is this right
what is the question asking
factorise
ok
you used a interesting method
and it is right
tho i dont actually know how it work
but it is correct
ok thx
my fav math teacher taught me it last year
wait the fraction yeh?
its easier :d
Have you heard the cross method
no show
thats ugly
you need good math sense when using it
NOOOO BUT UR USING LIKE 20% BRAIN POWER I HAVE TO USE 100%
oh
...
in tennis i accidentally let go off the racket and hit the teacher in the face
great job
thanks
Factorised
BITCH I DID THAT AND U SAID IT WAS WRONG
.
sorry
we use diff method
dude π
Becuz $5^{-1}\cdot 5 = 1$
MochaOhwelp
i calc like thas
yes
the rationalise
OMG WHERE
ITS RIGHT??
OMG THATS THE FIRST TIME IVE GOTTEN AN ALGEBRA QUESTION RIGHT WITHOUT CHEATING
wrong
what is her uncles age?
x + 20
Yes
OG
look at what you wrote
still wrong
oh
after 5 years
BRUH U UGLY MAN
ross is twice
crystal
yes
then why twice her uncles age will be equal to her age
read the question carefully and you will se
bc her uncle is an alien
her uncle is 2x her age then im confused
lol
krystal calc this when she was 10.
β¦
great
it is right
What im still doing when i was 10
MULTIPLYING FRACTIONS
wait
its actually pretty easy to calc this when the age is know
n

I thought adjusting the domain basically means what the max values of x are, but apparently not?

So, my assignment is to draw a function f, that fulfills the following requirements:
- Definition quantity = [-1; 9]
- Value set (y-values) = [-5; 5]
- f is ascending in the intervals [-1; 1] and [6; 9]
- f has a global maximum point in the point (1; 5)
However. I am wondering on how it is even possible to have a global maximum if the function ends in (9; 59, which is the same y-value as the global maximum?
@astral dew Has your question been resolved?
@astral dew Has your question been resolved?
@astral dew Has your question been resolved?
Just make the value at 9 smaller
For example y =4 at x = 9
But, isn't it meant to finish at 9, 5?
If the value set and definition quantity are to match
No, the function is not defined past x=9, but that says nothing about its y value
So, all the applicable y-values that finish at 5 will not sync with 9 from the x-values?
Ah I think I see the confusion. The question is not saying the function goes from (-1,-5) to (9,5)
The only time your function should have a y value of 5 is when x = 1
What about when it's 9 (x)?
It can be anything less than 5, as long as it's still ascending on [6,9]
How come?
Oh, yeah! Just because the max y-value is 5 does not mean that it has to finish at that point at an x value of 9, just that thats the maximum possible value.....
I get it now
I am so dumb

Thank you! β€οΈ

hi
you could differentiate it
its a sequence so perhaps a finite difference is better (or ratio)
multiply by $\frac{\sqrt{n^2+n} + \sqrt{n^2-n}}{\sqrt{n^2+n} + \sqrt{n^2-n}}$
Benjamin
idk if it's always positive
ok

so what did you find?
.reopen
β
(nΒ²+1)-(nΒ²-1)/denominator
n
yes
ok
so is it increasing or decreasing?
Differentiate
decreasing
yes, but its not direct, this form gives you the limit
but it give soyu the hint
oh actually i might have said something wrong
From this, and if you further multiply the thing by $\frac{1/n}{1/n}$, you can get some $\sqrt{1 + \cdots}$ in the denominator, in which you can expand by binomial series and do further approximation.

Not sure what curve C1 means, may need more information to tell if your drawing is correct.
here sorry
i don't know what b is asking
i dont understand
sorry i am dumb
Well if it is an assignment, you can always cheat a bit by using online calculator to see what is the curve you are looking for π
,w polar graph r = sin theta
nah bro
this is a practice test
i am trying to get good
at it because i suck
and we can't use graphing stuff in exams
i just don't understand what b is asking
is it the redline that i drew?
$L = \int_{\frac{5\pi}{6}}^\frac{13\pi}{6} \sqrt{\sin^2{\theta} + \cos^2{\theta}} d\theta$
then
$L = \int_{\frac{5\pi}{6}}^\frac{13\pi}{6} 1 d\theta$
is this ok?

jus tneed help undesrtanding how to input LN
i know LN is like e or something
but i dnot know how to write it into the equation
you are supposed to find x right?
try e^
if you want to raise e to the power of something
ok
ln b is log_e b. log is the opposite of exponent
uh waht
so to get inside of ln you must raise e to both sides
wait do you need help solving it formatting your answer
$e^{\ln b}=b$
b0ngl0rd
formatting
ok then just try e^ whenever you need to do it. If it doesn't work try using a calculator for a decimal answer
wait
oh i see
same thing except this is natural log
natural log is what again? sry
$\ln b=\log_{e}b$
b0ngl0rd
eehhh what
does the answer box take in latex only
wtf is latex π
its a math formatting language, some websites use it to take answers
im not sure
knowing this tho, how would i write the equation
i jus tdont know how to apply it
like what is b
remember how you turned 4 into 81 and removed the log on 2x +1?
same with e?
okkook
yeah
do the same, but now e has to be raised to the power of the equation to cancel it out, not 3
e^4?
well this problem has 6 on one side
oh sorry i meant 6
yeah
and the left side loses its log
yes
what am i supposed to do with e
someone told me e=10
but im p sure thats only if there is no base
e is irrational
so should i start with -2 on both sides?
e = approximately 2.71828, and yes you -2
how do i do e^6-2 π
does the answer box only take in decimals/integers
some boxes take in expressions but whatever
Try to find the rounding requirements somewhere on the page
if there are none then round to 3 digits or something
also don't forget to divide by 3
401.428
what
yeah
3x isn't x yet
but you want x right?
yes
cancel the factor of 3 by dividing both sides by 3
^
you must isolate x, 3x isn't fully isolated
how do i do e^6/3
(e^6 - 2)/3
okok
wait you have to move the 2 over first
but
doesn't matter
you should move 2 first like he says
so e^6= 2 +3x?!?!?!?
then e^6 - 2 = 3x like you did before
lol yes but that isn't done

LFMASO
ok this works too
although it will be a bit more complicated
what do you end up with now?
how SHOULD i be rwriting it
its fine, you will get the final answer. but generally you do addition/subtraction first with linear equations
okay.
how do i do e^6/3?
i dont know how to solve that at all
just calcualtor?
you probably wouldn't do anything with that wouldn't you
if you want an exact answer you'd leave e in the answer
AHh
but if you want a decimal value then you can use a calculator
are you solving this
yes
you want to leave just 3x on the right so you can divide
its like what you did before
ok. what is e^6-2
if you're familiar with solving linear eqs it's the same
you get e^6 - 2 = 3x
the left side may look ugly, but at least its a constant
unfortunately the only option is to leave it as a decimal or the messy expresison
$e^6 - 2 = 3x$
deltoidal_icositetrahedron
like this ^
ok
there's only one more step
you have the value of 3x, but you want x
what must you do to the equation?
subtact 3 both sides
divide
on all 3?
yeah
the right said has 3*x, so to get rid of the 3 you need to divide by 3
3*3/3 = x
the left side gets even messier, but i can write it out
ulator
yeah
ok
deltoidal_icositetrahedron
do i subtract those nubmers
that number is right
wait
133.809597
thats what i got
for the final answer but yes
tbh got the answer a long time ago but didnt know how to solve it
lmao
im left with 133.87
yeah
but the answer is 133.81
maybe
or calculator mistake
thanks for the help though i overcompllicate thiss hit like crazy
i would NOT have this patients with anyone else
with practice complicated expressions should get easier to handle
