i dont think so
lol
its cheap but its a big upgrade from gamer headset lol
idk why but that name is funny
its literally a ball on a trpiod
i recommend it tho it's actually pretty good, to my uninitiated non-audiophile ears at any rate
im not really a singer
uhh i haven't really tried much lmao
im more interested in it than doing it
i like to think i can do death metal vocals OK
lmao nice
but nothing clean
i have a pretty decent lower register, which kind of surprises me because i dont think of my voice as deep
but i suppose it is not un-deepest either or something
id like to test my low range
or maybe it's like a difference between the vocal qualities of my speech compared to my singing
i feel like my voice is low
but then im older, and i smoked, so it may be altered pretty heavily
lol
? what does this mean
like your singing voice is centered somewhere else?
no idk like
or timbre
yes other qualities like that
timbre resonance etc
i think maybe it's because when i speak it's a lot to acquaintances nowadays since im meeting a lot of new people and so forth since im at this residential program right
so im hearing a lot of my medium to higher registers
you pitch your voice up naturally in situations like that
i think its like i subconsciously associate it with being more approachable
alright im a bit toned down now but still excited, just not as over-the-top anymore
weird you say that
i noticed myself doing that
a long time ago but still
i honestly wondered if it had more to do with like
when i talk in my normal pitch people have a hard time hearing me
i wonder if its just a natural tuning of the ear to hear speech better in a certain pitch range
or maybe a mix
my dad always gets on my case for not talking loud enough
- mans hearing DEFO not the greatest lmao 2. i speak in a lower, perhaps more natural? tone with him because of familiarity
i think my volume is actually fine
but its a combination of those 2 factors
oh weird
when i meet people
i automatically lower my voice
without thinking
i only use higher registers with friends
actually
Okay so part of it I can explain, informed by my early-mid life experiences
Basically I've always been a baby
The youngest child
The youngest classmate
I'm very used to having that sort of social dynamic
And I guess it just got ingrained in me
So it feels natural to raise my pitch and like even widen my eyes and it's a ton of mannerisms tbh
When I'm like talking to someone new or asking a teacher for help or
stuff like that
that almost sounds like childlike
apparently i sound super gay
not of you
idk if this is true
Lmao
just appealing to that like
you know appealing to that desire to help younger people
i cant imagine moth in any way but super gay
Oh I mean it's something I learned as a child and young teen right

Ah right
if i met moth and they had like
interesting to think about
a super gruff masc voice
I mean yeah as I said this is exactly the social dynamic I got used to in my upbringing
id lose my shit
It's kinda strange because like
out here i feel like every server and cashier does valley inflection
moth does not have that kind of voice
that would be horrifying
idk why that became standard
gay gay homosexual gay
I'm 6' (copium, im probably 5'11.5 but i havent measured in so long lol), medium-thin build, deeper-ish voice naturally
But then I have these ingrained mannerisms in certain social situations and contexts
from my previous life experiences
arch taller than me arc
I also have this really stupid smile lmaoooo
I know exactly what it looks like
i have either a very deep voice
I can't help it it's just ingrained
or a pretty high pitched voice
I have a difference set of mannerisms for like
I def have the optimal voice pitch
When there's something funny and I smile in laughter it comes out like, I press my lips together and my cheekbones come up a bit and it kinda goes along with the other "baby" mannerisms if you understand
Max can confirm if his ears work properly
It's a weird juxtaposition
Dami has a satisfying voice
are you overanalyzing your natural smile impulse
You just hear my voice and you're like yeah that's what someone's supposed to sound like
I might just be overanalyzing it
most peoples smiles look really strange
Oh damn lmfao I was being ironic I hate my voice but I'll take it
lol
Dami you could be a fantastic orator if you slowed it down a tad hahaha
like laughs mostly sound weird
(Mostly I feel I sound like I have a cold)
I actually like my expressions of humor
Like laughter and smiles and chuckles and so forth
i beat my resting anger face with intense concentration
as opposed to normal expressions of humor
then i beat my intense concentration face with nootropics
my brows come together
the goal is to eventually have no face
🤔
i think i have a resting expression of complete disinterest
like pure apathy
lights on nobodys home
Hmm
angry/sad resting face is bad
Anyways I do feel like it is pretty weird, that juxtaposition, because like, I have these ingrained social mannerisms in sort of a 'baby' style of someone that is used to being younger than their social group
the truth is that im just zoned out like 95% of the time
i feel like you can def fix your fax though
I guess the thing is you sorta have that same expression when you're talking about something you're interested in so it doesn't take long to not associate it with boredom
But at the same time I have a decently high level of social confidence learned from moving around a lot
Or idk maybe this is more hindsight speaking
yeah its a weird effect where like
nothing wrong with that arch
people who have spoken to me enough can read me pretty well
But I feel like if I look at it now it's like
So I'm like assertive confident while having these baby mannerisms
Yeah you don't seem bored
especially if theyre not uhh
but i come off mysterious or like edgy to strangers sometimes
I see lol
youre talking about stuff thats not conscious right
Yeah none of it is intentional
But I get where it comes from. Hence why I think maybe once someone knows you they're just conditioned to your style
it's just ingrained/learned
it can be a little grating when older people affect really young things
like you ever see an older person do a hair flip
I come off that way when Im around strangers
I take awhile to warm up to people
idk what i want to say
Im very reserved until then
mysterious
max i dont believe u
you'd be surprised
ive never thought a person was mysterious in ym life
mannerisms generally arent good or bad right
well sure
theyre like imprints of your life
the blank face, they read it as belying many mysteries and hidden complexity
real people dont think other real people are mysterious
they do not know
and the thing you learned socially
just part of your personality
as opposed to like the inflection you put on
i think your interest in foundations is very mysterious
or the codes you use etc
I know a handful of people
that i would call vaguely mysterious
but more in a like
"i have no fucking clue what goes on in that persons head" way
Lmao
I think I can be hard to read for sure
Max I met a literal manic pixie dream girl type girl at this academic program
Or whatever the name is
lmao
So there was this weekly meeting where teh admins ask us about how things are going
She raises hand to give feedback on a class
She complains about the pacing and subsequently describes the instructor as "a lil sussy"
That is a direct qote

I'd fucking kill myself on the spot
What
gifted kids r fucking weird
imagine the non traditional students
i think id be like i should just quit
this is literally what happens when u go to [three letter school]
They aren't allowing her to brush her teeth during that class tiem anymore

When pressed by the admin who was initially just like "bruh wtf"
She says
"Yes, I admit, I am a toothbrusher"
im going to vomit
i think you are confusing "manic pixie dream girl" with "fucking psycho"
"A LIL SUSSY" WTF lmao
you should become friends with this person
be a mid tier friend with that person
literally in
i wonder theyre lonely
a meeting
never get too close
arch ur going to meet so many of these people
a program wide meeting
like a moth to a flame
lmao
but you gotta keep her around
as a constant source of entertainment
and also keep telling us about it
bruh yeah she's like one of the novel people
there's like characters in novels
that are characterized by their originality and authenticity you know
also arch whenever i imagine you
that's like her
I feel like she started saying that ironically
i just see Khun in my head
Yeah this sounds like a fanfiction or YA novel character
And then it stopped being ironic
I wish i looked like khun
u want to be a twink?
i should take fashion tips from khun

I want to be a twunk
Khun is just a twink
more weird friends
i want to be fit khun
i wish i was a twink
im past the phase where i can be
im kinda a twink but i refuse to acknowledge it
Like in life your options are to be the main character, which not everyone can be
Be an interesting side character
or npc…
Or a not interesting side character
you've seen irl pics of me before right
or an author
I'm definitely the main character of math
I would also like to be an interesting side character
me personally i am a proofreader
Namington once described me as the protagonist's best friend when I posted a particular pic of myself
free narrative relevance points
I'm Batman and Metalninja is Robin tbh
my character hook is just as like
I say yes to literally any adventure or outing
so im like
a character of convenience
Whoops
I provide enrichment to any adventure the author needs me on
idk i cant keep track of this metaphor
hmm
is the story your life or the world
Tbh that's the first combo that came to mind
its the story of the main character
how can there only be one main character
I think my best friend is the main character in my life
is it god
In each story
Oh that's very main character
fuck wait
I actually made this my ID photo
does arch have longer hair than me
Like in a certain story
yes max
i did it in paint or something
lol maxj owned
get owned max
no dami its like an adventure story stranger things knockoff
lol
yeah i can see it too dami like princess bride vibes
this was such a period of time tbh
youtube recommending me bill burr for the past 8 years
I look the same as I used to but uh... Very not in shape
its a screenshot from me in a class call
i am SO looking forward to like my 6 months progress pics once i start working out today
by the way
because my jawline when i have a good bf% is nice
i have this one pic of when i was like 13
lmao
i wasnt joking
idek where theres a climbing gym near here
theres 100% a climbing gym near you
what does that have to do w climbing
you gotta do some resistance training arch
Oh i see what you mean lol
Transport
is there not stuff you can climb
Trying to find the oldest pic I have. Currently I've found something from when I was 15 lol
like on hikes
From probably 3 years ago?
Here’s an old pic of me
lmao
I do not look good when I'm super skinny
I literally think it might have been the summer of that picture btw
I just went through a metamorphosis tbh
I think the problem is certain facial features I have are huge
I remember coming back, first day of class in peru, and my classmates were like
no old photos of me exist because i have no physical form
Big head small arms
So I need some stuff there
"Holy shit, [last name], what happened to you?"
I actually do remember the specific words they said
You look like you bully the kids in your grade but get bullied by the kids in grades above you
Also I started taking tkd classes (just for a short bit, up to yellow belt)
we all ride the bmi escalator
No like 18 to 20.5
its an index
Oh
Also I had a hunchback when I was that skinny
like literally you added 2.5 BMI
BMI is a useless measure
Does weight fix a hunchback
BFP is at least useful
Anyways I remember there was this one annoying kid that was wayyyy too handsy and one time when we were in the school court / playing field, I like, tapped his temple with my foot
It was a slow execution of a tkd kick
And everyone freaked out and dramatized it
It was hilarious
String bean
Because the narrative was, right
dami
I had just come back that summer bigger and not stick-thin anymore
you gotta get
And then I did that
And they loved the narrative that I had changed or something
wtf is jorts
jean shorts
Jean shorts
bruh
climbers wear jeans
max i kind of went climbing the other day are u proud
even to climb
Well
nice
So in central park theres this road from the east side to the west side and the walls are all bricks
and i climbed the walls

oversized thick shirts are very popular at gyms but i have never seen someone wearing jorts unless theyre accompanied by pitvipers
tf is a pitviper
Needed to get up top
you nerds and your made up jargon
oh arch
"jorts" "pitviper"
no
Honestly my look is anime protagonist but my voice is the inspiring character that gets assassinated
touch grass
Now that I think about it
ive got the perfect lesson
dami i feel like ur reference point is
mecha anime
lmao
pit vipers
@astral marsh watch that
bruh
urban climbing
in a sec im in lecture
its my favorite video in awhile
in-person
urban climbing is fun
fuck your lecture
lmao
Maybe?
"my look is anime protagonist"
i actually want to like
get my hair styled in some awy
yall almost tricked me into posting a picture of myself
Society has progressed past the need for this server
i want to do something with my hair
lucky for me i dont have any
apparently
i grew it out for like over a year now?
yeah like a year
it goes well past shoulders
i should post a pic of myself
u have posted video of yourself
it hit my shoulders and it's curling up now
but also trying to find a decent one is hard
wtf kind of hair is that
Same metal
The first one I posted that's more recent-ish is like
From the one part of my life where I looked semi-decent
anyways idk what kind of hairstyle i should get
@modest rune any thoughts on long hair styles
i have no clue
I have curly hair so i just rock the natural flow
i think you gotta be more creative w straight hair
I think like, partial buns and stuff can be cute
no
One of my friends hasn't cut his hair in years. He rocks a very specific long hair look
I need to get a haircut and like
Max you might know who I'm talking about
i like how i look when i do a basic ponytail, seeing my medium hair-length again in the front is cool
like just down to above my chin a bit in the sides
he needs to take better care of his hair though
his routine is bad
I need to fix the shape of my hair
I feel like I don't wanna cut my hair but it's chaos when I let it grow out more than a bit
also i look like i have short hair in my pfp
im considering just going back to medium or short hair
Yeah the first thing I noticed irl about you was that your hair was longer than I thought
long is a bit annoying
its way longer than when you saw me lmfao
Oh damn
that pfp is a complete ponytail
I was actually born with hair
And it used to be very straight
But then my grandmother insisted they shave me when I was either 2 or 3
my hair is curly enough that i should've known I wasn't straight sooner
True
Since apparently it's a Berber tradition
All lebanese men are gay
indoors or outdoors
Outdoors I think
i too had to get shaved bald as a baby
Oh man dami that happened to a lot of pepole in my family
or is that a dox
With my mom it was the opposite actually

like she had super curly hair and it got shaved and it grew back straight
lol what
Its ok jesse u can be the exception
When I was a kid one big theme was the "tornado" at the front of my head

The Cliffs at DUMBO
is that like a disneyland thing
but my only climbing friend is injured
No?
sus
That tornado
tornado
lmao
like the swirl on jupiter
Exactly
Brofibration is probably an interesting side character
you'll come out of the gym looking like popeye
I feel like you don't quite have a super imposing presence? Which is what I tend to imagine for main characters
But you're def interesting
Thing is I don't have a specific trope for you
brofib npc arc
am i interesting or uninteresting side character dami
Lol
i feel like
it feels good lol
brofibration is ripped
dw pty
like professor leonard
I'm like stick thin
I was in pretty good shape right before covid
My presence is so imposing
You know I've entered the room before you see me by my sheer sigma energy
you'll be pretty good at climbing then
Hmmmm
I'm thinking about Hegel rn
Grades?
if youre thin you can climb at a higher level even if you have bad technique

I feel like yeah you're an interesting person but I've yet to think up your trope
can you do a lot of pullups?
No

good pulling strength helps
if your technique sucks
and you can flex on people by climbing up stuff while only using your hands
here's your routine PT
climb
and do a shit ton of pullups and dips
youll be a monster
Do me next
Also, these videos are good. Sourdough. . .
Arguably being the maths discord we're all like the nerd sidekick of the MC
What are dips
BUFF DUDES T-SHIRTS - http://www.buffdudes.us/collections/all
Dips are an amazing upper physique exercise which can be performed with great results using your own body weight. With slight variations in form Dips can focus on either working the TRICEPS or the CHEST.
So you want to focus on hitting the LOWER CHEST FIBERS? Chest Dips can be a per...
that
guacamole my favorite
lol
That is not good climbing advice lol
You def wanna do all those exercises but if you only work out your upper body you’ll get dunked on my 13 year olds
Me?
Yeah
@meager sonnet honestly the vibe I get from you allows for the protagonist who starts shy
Like, shinji ikari?
IDK too many examples of that one that aren't from depresso anime
yes
:\/

what do yall think about this pokemon unite
I heard that it was good
I watched some gameplay as well
Basically all the vtubers I follow played it as soon as it released
:
:v
its 10 :-)
Like how much would math change if we just did it left to right
not at all
Exactly
Like I’m like 95% meming
But when I tutored and had to do PEMDAS it was the worst thing ever
ryc.
i hate it

so much
ryc u do the brackets first :-)
every math teacher who doesn't mention that division and multiplication are done together from left to right
should be fired
pemdas is only useful for children who need to write out things like 2x3+4
mathematicians just use decent notation instead
and then i'll give them a stern talking to
i was told u can do whatever one comes first
the superior way to teach order of operations is to introduce polynomial rings, and then define an evaluation function and observe it plays nicely with notation iff we use pedmas
so its like
BE(DM)(AS)
where u can COMMUTE inside the brackets
pemdas might not be the best ordering
hmm
the superior way is to introduce them in the order they are evaluated
so first introduce parenthesis to students
then exponentiation
chad way is to force urstudents to learn prefix notation...
or postfix
polish deez nuts
honestly if they r gna make all these kids learn programming just force them to write a polish parser as their first project
no more whining about pemdas after that I bet
god my intro cs course in HS taught racket as the first language
idk, writing a polish parser like this was actually a really really good project
it was
i feel like this should be done unironically
prefix notation made me want to kill myself
What is that even
i wasnt being ironic
i wish i'd done it before college
oh
I’ve never heard of a polish parser
irony would be saying "make them do it in haskell"
Should I have
yeah sure
it often comes across that way
do you know how hard it was
to make it so that i didn't demand spaces in the input
and tell from unary minus and binary minus
i wanted to die
every single message i send should really have an implicit "
" appended ryc
rendering images in java
i don't think anybody should take a firm stance on what is universally the correct convention for interpreting ambiguous expressions lol, that just seems self defeating. you cannot assert that a convention is correct in any meaningful sense
the correct stance is whatever my stance is
the only good take about $4/3*2$ is that if two people argue over how it should be interpreted, then someone should rewrite it for clarity
diligentClerk
which is why they are called conventions and not "the true interpretation"
How ever I got my answer Is the right way
i think u should just judge ambiguous expressions by democracy... if 51/100 people say that its 2/3 then its 2/3..
this is called "social constructivism" by philosophers of mathematics
Every since namington got me with the GNU pasta I don’t trust anything they say
i got it from reading like 100 pages of reading naming and necessity thank u very much.
about as much as i can handle,
the obvious followup project is to make a computer algebra system
Clearly
i've been thinking about trying my hand at it but like
it just sounds so pain
its not worth it lol
there are more interesting math projects than implementing stupid algebra algos
do the classic complex function grapher
every nerd with a website has one of those
i recently implemented some arbitrary precision computing stuff.
Ooh congrats on honourable clerk!
i wrote a bunch of basic mathematical functions on the reals where a real number was modelled as a function that accepts an epsilon and returns an approximation to that real within epsilon of the correct value (where it could have arbitrarily large memory in order to give the number out to epsilon) and all the functions operated on these
thanks fiona i got it through bribery and corruption
diligentClerk is honorable
i also spent some time recently researching approximation techniques for pi, until recently i only knew the power series for arctan(1) thing which has a terrible convergence rate
Bribery and corruption? Honestly I expected woog to weigh in but you got yellow name without that even having to happen
Ooh there's some cool stuff with pi calculation
if you replace these by the powerseries for arctan you get a series which converges very quickly
machin used this formula to set a record in digits of pi computed, in the early 1700s
there's also a nice formula due to newton, I won't give his exactly but there's a nice modified version of it: it's easy to see by geometric considerations that $\int_0^{1/2} \sqrt{1-x^2}$ is $\frac{\pi}{12} + \sqrt{3}/8$. so if you solve for pi and compute the integral by working out the power series for $\sqrt{1-x^2}$ and taking the antiderivative, you can compute pi pretty rapidly
diligentClerk
thanks for sticking up for me in mod chat fiona. i'm glad to know one of the council elders is on my side. some of them have it out for me
the new channel did all the work 🙂
Have you seen some of the accursed ramunajun-based formulas?
i've seen these but I genuinely do not understand a single damn one. the wolfram mathworld page has a bunch of them but to me they're all WTF
I don't know any number theory
As I understand it modern ones are generalized hypergeometric series using some elliptic stuff
beautiful... if you say so friend
Chudnovsky is just insane
I just spent like 15 minutes trying to understand this argument because i misread "only if" as "if"

what the fuck
It looks like line noise
Yeah I was trying to get Clerk assassinated for not liking my excellent joke yesterday about the Langlands program
at least this series has a a property that you can wrap your mind around: of all series of the form $\sum P_n/Q_n$ with $P_n,Q_n$ integers, this converges most rapidly
diligentClerk
Well it says "consists of only integer terms", not sure what that means
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
don't like to shit on any area of math but i honestly don't understand the appeal of this stuff in this level of detail. i can't imagine just being so interested in this that you devote years and years of study to just series for pi or whatever.
ramanujan understood a lot of things i don't tho
I think most of those are just figuring out the way to derive them
You can do these series with like, a certain form
To me Ramanujan seems almost like a recreational mathematician with the skills of a god, he loved pumping out little identities and formulas it seems
this page honestly just looks like the stereotype to me of what laymen think math is. just page after page of incomprehensible formulas
Nice
i think thats ramanujan's entire body of work in general
ramanujan is the layman mathematician
conway is the pop mathematician
Heegner numbers and modular forms go BRRR and some sequence rearranging, I guess
there are some mathematicians who i have immense respect for who i have just accepted i will never be able to understand the motivation for like, most of their work. one of these people is Anne Troelstra
the dude is indubitably a genius but if you read anything he writes it is extremely difficult to understand his motivation for these results and why they're interesting and important. even his basic proof theory textbook is hella dry
completely unmotivated, almost completely turned me off proof theory after i burned out reading it
oh god that's a name I haven't heard for a while
proof theory flashbacks
I have trouble with a lot of proof theory tbh as there are so many systems and definitions to keep track of. picking up a random paper, I feel I see so many three letter acronyms without context, somewhat like reverse math. also like in many fields there's the problem of citations of unpublished notes that circulated privately
Guys what are the prerequisites for ug math like analysis, abstract algebra
high school mathematics + linear algebra
I know basics of trig, coordinate geometry and calculus
but many students find it helpful to have taken a calculus course or two first
as well as intro proofs
(in theory you can pick up proofs on the fly, but most students find analysis courses too fast-paced for that)
(many students get their intro to proofs in proof-based linear algebra)
is linear algebra really required at the beginning?
Proofs are so fun but kind of hard sometimes </3
all you need is a little ✓ in your name and you're good to go
not every abstract algebra expects familiarity but most do
since they cover matrix groups week 1 or whatever
and if you dont know what a determinant is
good luck lmao
tick gang
Can I be arrogant
yeeesss join tick gang
if you want to get into analysis i would suggest combining a rigorous calculus textbook like Apostol or Spivak with one with lots of pictures, intuition and calculations, like the standard undergrad textbook by Stewart
we be growin
Tick tock
a good introduction to proofs imo is through discrete mathematics, as is done with computer science majors
can't you just skip that one topic
i mean, the fact that every group is secretly a matrix group is kind of like
yeah but they're one of the most basic examples besides permutation groups and dihedral groups
super important in applications of group theory
but sure, in theory you can omit it
OK but wait what are tick marks
since an intro course doesnt usually get into applications
beyond basic group action stuff
(which is typically done with permutation groups because cayley)
BUT WHAT DO THEY EMAN
tick gang
it means they have no sense of humour
ayyy stop I have good jokes
Why do u type in all caps so much
It's like those t-shirts that say, "I am not vaccinated and am proud of it".
WHO ME?
i forgor 💀

No but tbh its just bc my friends and I type in all caps a lot and sometimes I forget that normies don't type in all caps a lot 🤣
"normies"
Im being sarcastic
it's zoomer attention span syndrome im sorry 🙏
So
I've been in here less than an hour and I am already being annoying I am sorry
Guys I had a one year break from studying due to my mental illness. By the grace of lockdown and online class I have passed my high school and I will soon be joining ug math . I want to know what should I do before I go there
I looked at math ug courses they begin with analysis, linear algebra and discrete math
What should I do I have 1-2 months
I mean what should I study so that I can study ug math smoothly
most schools try and make their intro courses fairly... generous pacing-wise
so i wouldnt worry too much so long as you have your high school stuff down
but if you want to feel extra confident going in, getting some comfort with proofs is a good idea
most
well toronto spec explicitly recommends its students get good at proofs over summer
like they send out an email
"learn these proofs mate"
people will still complain that the ontario curriculum didn't teach them enough
¯_(ツ)_/¯
the point is that, if theyre asking here, their school probably didnt provide them with something like that
So high school math and ug math aren't related?
If I just do proofs will that be enough
youre expected to be fluent in high school stuff as a baseline for undergrad math
No
but you already passed high school
You need to know calculus very well for instance
so i assumed you were already decently familiar with that
Isn’t the first year course like
I know basic calc
its more like, proficiency in high school mathematics is kind of taken for granted
thats the baseline to get into a math program (at least one that starts with analysis)
like how an English major is expected to know how to read
if you plan to study maths, you are most likely already comfortable with high school maths
I am asking if I need to fluent in. Trig, coordinate geometry , binomial theorem etc
yes yes and yes
Yes lol
basically all of high school mathematics
Okay thanks
except maybe some of the analytic geometry + conic section stuff
but a lot of it is reviewed on-the-fly, they wont expect you to remember everything
like the binomial theorem for instance
Algebraic geometers:
itll probably be reproved in fact
(proving the binomial theorem was an induction practice problem week 1 of my undergrad)
Yea you’re not expected to like have perfect memory of everything
Ohk thanks y'all
but you'll certainly be expected to know, like, how to solve high school level equations and whatnot lmao
thats just a basic skill
Yes
i'll confess that i dont have the trig values memorized, i have to draw/visualize a quick triangle and make cuts
if i want to rederive it
Even though it's been a year o think I can do it
i had very little high school math knowledge when i started my math degree and it was extremely painful-i got my degree in the end tho. I would recommend a linear path in math education.
I do the same haha
just gave myself my second haircut
i still dont understand necklines
or side checking
send pic
I have no idea how you can see yourself from behind.
i use a mirror
Don't you need at least two mirrors?
i cant send a pic
yea i have a handheld one
and one in my bathroom
i saw a tip on youtube was to like
you face away from the big mirror, and hold the little mirror in front of you
it makes it a lot easier i think
I just go to the barber once every two months, that ought to be enough
i could send a pic of from when i fixed my crown
that looked so bad
I can't risk doing that myself
thats how i felt then i tried it
barbers fuck shit up too
its just appeal to authority that it doesnt look bad in your head i think
i bought clippers before scissors and just ran like
i mean if you get clippers doing your sides is nothing
with the guards and stuff
it took me like 20 minutes even the first time and it will extend your haircut by like a month

Guaranteed easiest way to cut your hair at home!
Step 1: Part your hair
Step 2: ...
this is the guy i followed for the mirror tip and for how to cut the sides
i think he does all the way down to a 1 though, i usually do 3-4-5 or 2-3-4
now i can do a haircut every 3 weeks 😄
what he's doing is a crap haircut though
what kind of hair do you have
idk it looks fine to me
if its curly tbh you will get better cuts at black salons
im not into fashion or whatever
i have super straight hair
the straightest kind
i forget the word
1a or whatever it is
are you getting fades?
nah
I honestly do
cause i feel like they look good with minimal effort
yea they make it look professional for sure
i wanna learn to transition a little bitter
better
like it says I care about how I look and I dont really have to style it to much
before i do fades
true
lol i dont really care about how i look
id like to not draw attention and not have my hair going everywhere
other than that
honestly i have started to learn to care
if you have a real job or are doing interviews i do
atleast until people know me
you wanna look really clean for new ppl or dating or whatever
but the next 5 weeks for me are online classes and camping
oh yea
i would like to learn how to do the back better
i still am struggling with transitions
I hate that wearing proper pants isn't popular anymore
i dont get strong lines from different guards anymore
sweat pants are the superior outfit
but i dont really get how to transition there
why
especially since the line moves i think?
your guideline goes down when you go from the side to the back right
to drop under the ridge
best with white tennis socks and some adidas shoes
this but not ironically
