If you're in a place where you feel like NSSI is the answer, which I don't know if I'm reading this right, please, please, talk to somebody. It doesn't necessarily have to be a therapist that your parents set up, but find an adult who you trust that you can talk to in-person about this. There are resources, that aren't necessarily talking to a stranger, that they can help you find.

Mandatory reports only have to do so if they feel it is an immediate threat to your life or safety, and in their training are usually told to tell you before you say something that they might have to tell someone.

I definitely resonate with you, and feel what you are going through. It may seem like a cliche, but things do get so much better, even if all it feels like you can do right now is hold onto that hope.

Self-harm is typically non-suicial, that's why the more "modern" "preferred" term is Nonsuicidal Self-Injury, there is just a high correlation between the two. Think about it as there are two boxes in your brain, one is responsible for preventing your body from getting hurt and another responsible for helping you want to live, but they both seem to deteriorate with depression/anxiety, but result in very different outcomes.

Sorry about your friend though, and I hope you, and them, are in a good place.

Hi, I've had therapy forced upon me, and I've also gone to therapy while being unreceptive to it. All I gained was trauma.

I am now again in therapy, but it took me years to actually do so and was entirely on my terms.

Pushing someone who is this resistant to go to therapy will never benefit them.

Quick progress report on the E677 ⊨_fin E255 open problem from Tao et al.

The problem: Does every finite magma satisfying x = y ◇ (x ◇ ((y ◇ x) ◇ y)) also satisfy x = ((x ◇ x) ◇ x) ◇ x? Known false for infinite magmas. Finite case: still open.

What we've found:

1. R_x bijectivity is a dead end. The blueprint's 496-element construction has E677 ✓, E255 ✓, and every R_x non-injective. That kills at least one circulating proof attempt cleanly.

2. The problem reduces to one identity. E255 at x ⟺ L_{L_x⁻²(x)}(x) = x. L_y bijectivity is proven — the question is whether this orbit identity follows from E677 alone.

3. No counterexample through size 6. Size 7 is inconclusive (Z3 timeout at 10 min).

Conjecture is looking positive. Findings doc available if anyone wants to dig in or attempt the Lean.
