life was asking me to be more than just the maths guy whose entire life revolves around university and being smart

the classes i associate my burnout with the most were, mostly, higher algtop classes (cobordism, K-theory, something on motives that i had to attend despite not having the prerequisite backgrounds)

then my masters which i first tried to write on group cohomology, but then i did something else

all while corona was raging and i was unhappy irl

my point is i was already pushing myself then, and letting my entire self-image depend on university and the social contacts i made there

Well, I submitted the dissertation, but I have to wait at least a few month before the defense and then probably much longer before landing the postdoc.
