calculus in engineering is generally specifically applied to whatever field ur studying

the core calculus concepts will hold across all fields ofc

but in some fields ull touch areas of calculus that other fields dont bother with

all you need starting out is a good understanding of calculus concepts i.e. what is a derivative what is an integral and how they can be broadly applied

for example in physics ull probably cover line integrals while in an introductory differential equations class u cover topics in linear algebra as well as differentials from calculus

but thats not to say theyre entirely different; they both still follow underlying core calculus concepts

its the same calculus but applied differently across every field of study

same calculus, just more specific, generally if you go into a research role then the functions you need to master will be apparent (examples are thing like the fourier and laplace transforms inside of PDEs), but that'll all become more clear the more you do it, if you have a curious mind then you can look at any concept you like, they all will have at least one small thing in common (typically).

Although some engineering (network engineering for example) don't use calculus at all (except for maybe results from discrete calculus, which is similar but not entirely)

if you're curious about general topics then things like the multivariate chain rule and integration by parts are immensely powerful and used basically everywhere

other maybe less obvious things which are important are jacobians (and more generally determinants), which then you're looking towards the lens of linear algebra, which is it's own whole can of worms that can take you to things like the fourier transform and optimisation problems very naturally

(I'm not an engineer tho so take with a grain of salt)
