CEGEP is neither more intense or harder than uni @stone stratus is full of shit. The classes you see in your first year cover some topics you see in your first year of uni depending on your major and depending on your CEGEP program. Someone going into the human science program in CEGEP will have a much easier time than someone going into natural science; both are pre-university programs aimed at different majors. Worse even in this grotesque caricature of CEGEP, is that both of these programs are considered easy since the actually difficult one is science, art and letters which has everything and will give you the ability to apply to any major in university. So unless Mister here did science art and letters, no, it was not harder than university, stop lying. Everything you’ll see in class in your first year (even calculus) is a dumbed down version of what you’d see in your first year of university for your specific major. For example, if you’re going into a math major and you did the natural science program, the calculus you’ll see in CEGEP will cover most of Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 with a bit of series into it, but you’ll still not see everything that you would actually be seeing in uni. As a matter of fact, you can take any reference CEGEP textbook for calculus and you’d see that your teacher will skip (A LOT) of techniques and topics, some of which are very nice, because (obviously) they don’t have time to cover everything and it’s useless to do so since you won’t be graded on it! And as for series, you barely see anything, even in the reference textbook for your class. If you were in human science with the math option, you could have also learned calculus/linear algebra vastly differently since the focus would have been on finance, business and management. Another example could be engineering, the mechanics, chemistry and electricity and magnetism classes you’ll do in your first year (or second year depending on your program) are absolutely nothing

compared to the classes you’ll be doing in your first year of engineering. In CEGEP, the curriculum doesn’t expect you to know calculus and linear algebra when doing mechanics and electricity and magnetism and chemistry, therefore, unlike uni, you don’t! Even if you’re learning it at the same time in math you don’t use these topics in your applied classes. Because of that, everything you see and do is drastically more simple, you almost never have to do 3D problems, dynamics are a walk in the park, there’s absolutely no integration and derivation so you don’t even have to worry about rational polar coordinates problems or integrating your own formulas to find the electric fields from abstract geometries. It’s basically just high school with 1,2 extra topics, basically more like factually it is. Not even the textbook will give you more to work with because it’s not part of the curriculum, you might not even have a textbook, just slides. The only reason people will struggle in CEGEP is cause they transition from a teacher and a school bell telling them what to do to managing their own time and they’re lazy bums that can’t function without someone giving them instructions.

Now feel free to shut up about things you don’t understand and @stone stratus stop misleading people about how actually difficult CEGEP is, if you genuinely struggled, I’m sorry to hear that, but that’s a you issue, grade 12 students coming from Ontario have it much harder than you in their first year of uni
