for a measured quantity X, the $U = \frac{Xmax - Xmin}{Xmax + Xmin}$, if U’s error is required to be less than 3.5%, how about the resolution of X? Some one said X’s resolution should be 0.25%, which means $\frac{3.5}{\sqrt{2}*10}$ where 10 is a conventional requirement. Do you know why we need $\sqrt{2}$ ?

you can do control theory while programming your robot on C++ and solve related control problems using C++ libs which would be faster than python
operating systems like linux used trees and queues to manage processes

What is the difference between state equation, characteristic equation and input equation exactly?
looking through my textbook those terms seem very identical
(Not quite mathematics related so asking here, and this is in relation to sequential circuits and flip flops)
the state equation is given in terms of a sequential logic circuit
the characteristic equation is given en terms of the min sum of a combinatorial logic circuit
the input equation is how the flip flop behaves given its input to either maintain a its output or transition state

in general if you feel something irregular that you haven't felt before I would see a doctor about this

same with possible skin cancer like if you see some kind of mole that you haven't seen before or you notice something much larger than before it's good to get that checked out and biopsied

some people are prone to it, in the same way that some people are just more prone to developing moles
yeah, I heard people with lots of moles are sometimes more prone to it

moles themselves are not necessarily cause for panic but it's something you should keep an eye on and definitely get checked out if one is growing unually quickly or is irregular in shape

well this website attempts to classify your skin cancer risk based on how many moles are on your arm
their highest group is >11 moles
and i have >30 on my right arm

there are certain characteristics (irregular shape/irregular color/irregular growth) that usually mark the difference between benign versus malignant
and if you catch them early it's usually pretty easy to deal with
it's usually only bad if you ignore it

okay actually just write a function that describes the distance between both then minimize it
i was trying to find the the point on x^2 that minimizes the distance for a random point (a, 0)
i went wrong and its always (0, 0)
the line probably goes through (0.5, 0) tho
you could also draw a triangle 0,0, 1,0, 1,1 and then draw smaller and smaller triangles guessing inputs in between those coordinates and when the triangle gets bigger go back until you have a degenerate triangle with area 0
(that is a line)
the vertices of the triangle be constrained to be on the curves

i guess you would have to magically guess the right vertex on the curve with one vertex, maybe a quadrilateral XD
or just repeat the triangle thing with different vertices

i have been trying to make friends at the r/buildapc discord where there are some home lab enthusiasts
since i have gotten a bit into that myself lately
my plan was to put 2 mellanox cards, one on my desktop, one on that mini pc i got
but the link speed was like 1/10th what it should be, partially cuz of the mini pc's specs
and then my main computers is windows which poses some obstacles...
so i just decided to buy a rackmount case and put two real computers in it, with actual full x16 pcie slots
and now im kind of fancying putting my main desktop into a rackmount case too 
how much extra are good prebuilts now
i got my prebuilt from nzxt bld
eh i can't remember what they said the markup was but reddit says they're a few hundred bucks more expensive than if you built yourself

imagine you are creating an AI to estimate, within its 90% confidence interval, any number given its description (i.e. "number of people whose names start with a vowel" might output [10m, 5b], let's say)
this description of the AI seems to be fine on the surface

you could give it a list of descriptions with known numbers test whether the AI gets the numbers right around 90% of the time
problem is, if you have a list of descriptions with known numbers that you want the AI to get right 90% of the time, the problem just became trivial
(just make a range that includes 90% of the items in the data set; have a program output this in response to everything)
what is the actual solution to this? how would you define the goal for the AI so its actually doing something useful?

no I got a custom one, i had a 9900k and an rtx 2060
now i have a 14900k cpu and rtx 3080 gpu
they have em on amazon in my country

i went through a bit of pain installing my new hardware last month
but i feel more confident having done it a couple of times now
i know theoretically i can learn how to do it... i just dont want to, and ive already procrastinated doing it for 4 years lmao
it just sounds like too much effort for the first time

the effort is not terrible
the worst part is just being nervous af about damaging things
particularly the cpu and socket
but it took me like an hour or two to replace the motherboard, cpu, fan, etc
im sure a pro could do it way faster
idk, i did it all during the process
the only really nontrivial part was installing the cpu correctly
.... and getting the damn power connectors to plug in
but it was mostly just follow the manuals
i couldn't hit 60 fps in elden ring lol

how important are cooling and power supplies stuff? they seem the most arbitrary in terms of metrics
as in, what is "good" vs minimum
depends on the cpu/gpu
i have an 850W psu and i would not feel comfortable getting a 4090
mainly because the 14900k draws a ton of power
also even the best air coolers can’t cool the 14900k at full load apparently
so basically i just looked at what cooler gamers nexus used in their benchmarks for the 14900k and got that
but honestly these days amd is just better and you’d be doing yourself a favor buying an amd mobo + cpu
they draw less power and are neck and neck, and the 7800x3d is the best cpu for gaming right now
7950x3d if you want more cores for work and top gaming performance, although it’s a few percentage points worse than the 7800x3d

also don’t trust userbenchmarks, they are trash and anti-amd

they lowered the weight of multicore benchmarks to make intel on top
