20 (being the cube with 5 sides)
You guys are pros at math and your getting different answers.
They were probably tierd
Oh nice
if i fail i redo the whole semester
yeah
very nice
i got <25% on the practice test
so uhh
What’s the formula to solve the surface area of a cylinder
I have a 60 in math
u know formula of perimiter?
of a circle
But 87s in everything else
Rpie something
2rpi
2πr
Right?
Cercles and rectangle
cool
look at the aide of rectangle
calculate that
multiply by the hight
add the 2 circles
and u dont need my help

.close is the command
i think
idk check it, if it makes sense then yeah
math is logic
if ur steps are reasonable and make sense where what came from and how what when
then correct
as long as u can prove it
and then u run into mistakes when proving it but thats just mistakes
if no mistakes, its correct
enjoy

Quickly set up and solve an equation to find the surface area of a cylinder in terms of pi. Also review to formula to find the surface area of a cylinder.
Take an online quiz to see if you understand how to find the surface area of a cylinder:

Hm? That's just the variable I chose though.
the length of Row of soldiers is $= 100m$ is correct
IVMC Gaming CH
Total of the dog traveled is $400 meters$ is correct

Idk where to ask such basic question there are lots of channels!
Anyways, I've been trying my best to learn this radical thing but I'm just too dumb I think!
So would it be right to say √ 12 is equal to 2 √ 12?
I heard its redundant to write 2 like in the second example because its automatically implied so whats the right answer then of √ 12?
2√3 or 4√3, using this logic below?
Sorry if this was difficult to understand.
Umm...2√3 is correct.
But the vid im watching says 2 is automatically implied so shouldnt it be the second answer then?
is not equal to root 2root12
12 can be divided by 4
since 4 is a square number
12/4 = 3
soo
2root3
because when we take it out we square root the number
soo
root(3*4)
2root(3)

are there any special rules for computing infinite definite integrals by computing the indefinite integral and then calculating the value of the function at its end points?
Wdym by rules
like guidelines we have to follow so we dont mess up
because things get quirky at infinity
@tropic sluice Has your question been resolved?
@tropic sluice Has your question been resolved?
id use limit
sub in a as bound
lim a->infinity
use 'a" as a normal value and explain what happens as tends to infinity, I.e convergence ot divergence
Oooof why solving trig equation is soo hard

How is that calculus seems easier than trig

how do we find local min and max for this
is it +2 for max and -2 for min ?
local maxes are (pi/18,2), 2pi/3,sqrt3
oh u need points ?
yeah
differentiate and equate to 0
u get 1 value for x there
differentiate again and put that x there if it is less than 0 it gives maxima and if its more than it gives minima
u can simplify this function as 2sin(pi/3+3x)
how
multiply and divide by 2
we can write sqrt(3)/2 as sin(60)
and 1/2 as cos(60)

I got no clue what this means
I dont understand it
Its asking you to find the probability of 5 or 8
there are 8 numbers the spinner can land on: 2/8
convert 2/8 to a percentage
It says to give it as a fraction in the question
It's exactly the same
Except for the decimal bit. But if you can get it as a fraction, we can talk about the decimal
Pr=favorable outcomes/total outcomes
I actually got no clue I dont understand it properly
how many outcomes are there?
6
how many is it asking for?
1/6
Pr (1)
yep
do you know how to get decimal?
nope
whats 1 divided by 6?
its asking for the 3rd decimal place
What does it mean by 3rd deciaml place
0.166
0.1666
is that what it is trying to say
it would be 0.167 because you round up the 7
Oh I answered 0.1666 and it worked
👍
Thanks alot for your help
np
TYSM
this one im not so sue on
sure*
it says you have 6 red marbles, the Pr is 3/10
how would you make 3 become 6?
x2
and if you multiply 3x2 you must multiply what else by 2?
10?
why x2 tho
because 3 is the pr of red marbles, but you have 6
Is this 162
???
@gloomy forge sorry for the ping but it is not 162 and I dont know how it isn't
what is the question asking for?
how many tiles are in the bag?
18
and whats the denominator of the Pr?
9
what must you do to 9 to make it into 18?
x2
whats 1/9 x2?
idk
just multiply the numerator and denominator by 2
yes
You can also just multiply the probability by the total number of items
Whichever makes more sense
The same formula number=probability * total could've been used to solve the previous problem also
Well Than Tysm all of you that help me with this and thorght me how to do it. Thanks alot
np
tell me what you think you should do, i will correct you if you're wrong
is that what you put in for the answer?
nice

So ive had this headache of a math problem, its about calculating volume, its just text also, so the question goes :
Anna and Rasmus are having a children's party and thought of letting the children swim in their newly built outdoor pool. The pool has a length of 5 m, a width of 3 m and a depth of 1 m.
To their dismay, they realize they have no hose to fill the pool with. But fortunately, they have 4 cylindrical buckets with a radius of 10 cm and a height of 30 cm.
They decide to fill the pool by filling the buckets with water indoors and running out to the pool and pouring in. They can carry two buckets at a time.
If it takes 5 minutes for one of them to fill the buckets, run out, empty them in the pool and run in again.
How long before the party do they have to start in order to be ready in time?
Round off the answer to whole hours.

can i ask for help pls, A paint manufacturer proposed that the cylindrical containers to hold 40 liters of paint must have its diameter equal to the height for easy shipment. What will the diameter be?
learn sir
how to solve this one
thiis
u know formula for volume?
.185m
for cylinder?
pir^2h?
so how to get without r?
pi is 3.14159
i mean, it also asked for r since diameter is r*2
what?
oh yeah
its asking for diameter
which is 2r
so find r
u have the formula for volume
and u have the formula for hight dont u?
read that question
what does it say about hight?
what?
write down relationship between diameter and hight
using the information ur given
so u can see it
its more obvious when you are it in front of you
more clear*
@ me when u rdy
@low current Has your question been resolved?
@mortal mica i tried and got 23.35 cm instead
40 x 1000 = 40000 cm
since h = d
pir^2h = pi*h^3
v = pi*h^3
then sqrt(40000/pi) = h
lul
ye can do ig
lol
umm
yup
except its not sqrt
itll be cbrt
cause its power of 3
not 2
u got the answer
cbrt tho instead of sqrt ;P
or just do (kgjdnr)^(1/3)
cause thats what it basically is
deviding the power
23cm is right
sqrt in this line reprisents √ yes?
which eliminates squares
"undoes" them
THANK YOU SIR!

I dont get it, how to solve this ?
@viral locust Has your question been resolved?
Kinda confused in part b ? can someone explain it?
@viral locust Has your question been resolved?
You did part a?
Yes
two matrices right
I do multiplied the,
them
but I dont know which are the total money to buy and total sales
Show what you did
200 164
150 128
100 92
24000 42000
15000 32000
40000 64000
this is for a
after I multiplied them :
11050000 19600000
9536000 16872000
I got this 2x2 matrices
and for b, as I said, I dont know which matrices to find total money and total sales
I'll check it soon
@viral locust Has your question been resolved?
guys please close the channel if your questions have been resolved
Not resolved anymore tho
since yesterday, Im always asking for solver
There is still no anyone
Cmon, Im not asking for the answer tho
You can check to help-24 for what Im asking......
I'm here now dw
These diagonal elements will give the answer to a,b
11 and 22??
Yes
Yeahh maybe the diagonal one, but how do we know that?
why must 11 22? how about the others?
Because they give Cp×B and Sp×S
Where Cp is cost price and B is amount bought
Sp is selling price and S is amount sold

Hi how would you solve this question?
@glad surge Has your question been resolved?
You know how to deal with that 20?
You know properties of determinants
Not that
I'll send you a link to website showing you properties of determinants
And you solve this accordingly
No it's a one step question
when you say properties of determinants
what do you mean?
since there are alot of properties of determinants
hmm okay
so for the rows that have 20
its 20 (e + d+f)
so what would happen next?
Think about it properly
Try it
Do you know about exchanging column
yeah
What happens when you do that
would the answer still be the same
No -4
why is it -4?
Because the column 1 and column 2 are exchanged
That's what I asked you above and you said yes
I know we can swap rows in matrices but i never knew it can turn negative
Determinant makes difference

sorry how is f'(9)= 18?
limit def of derivative ig
no no
$$f'(x) = \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{f(x + h) - f(x)}h$$
here f(x + h) will be the expression for x != 9 and f(x) will be 81
then u do albegra
sorry im so confused
you are forgetting the lim[h -> 0]
I know the function is first principles
do you know what a derivative means?
yeah
oops
thenotsoOP
well at 9 f(x) = 81, right?
so that part is 81
then f(x + h) will be the other expression
okay like
i get this part
but i dont understand this sorry
f(x + h) = (x + h - 9)^5 sin(1/(x + h - 9)^4) + (x + h)²
then do algebra with that
okay thank you

can someone help me out with this one?
Currently trying to solve this problem
However I have multiple variables I'm working with that I'm not too sure how to manage
The question is asking that I use the formula for surface area
SA=2lw+2lh+2hw = 541.5
to find volume
V=lwh
If the base of the rectangle is a square
width length would be equal right?
(Optimization Calculus)
if you use this then 541.5=2 * x * x + 2 * x * y + 2 * x * y
then you can solve for y
Ah I see
and then put that to volume formula which in your case will be V=x * x * y

Could someone please help me with this question, I'm struggling to see how it gets to 0.006?
Well, how this would be calculated
I think it's called a compound function, but I have no idea where to start when it comes to getting that answer
Do you just have to do each one, one by one slowly?
@alpine sable Has your question been resolved?
What exactly do you mean by that?
Seems like that looking at parameters
yes
What does the : do in this case?
If right then left?
something like that?
I don't really understand X being a function
very little, we've only had one lecture on probability
But it's going to be on my test
We were just told things without being told what they mean, or how they work
So I'm struggling to piece things together
I'm certainly trying
0 and 1 are x values here?
X = {x1, x2} or X = {0, 1}
Something like that?
X outputs into {0,1}, yes
P(X=0) = 0.5
P(X=1) = 0.5
?
but n would have to be either 0 or 1 in this case right?
Oh
P(x | n, p)
We did something like that
n is 100 yes
Oh, I was talking about the heads/tails thing in that case
That makes sense
Does that mean including the upper and lower bounds? Could be completely wrong, going on something from a different module
1 in that case
It's stated as fair if that helps

Is my workings so far correct ?
And I want to ask if there is any other way that it can be done better
Also it's about probability
@ancient lava Has your question been resolved?
Also would like to ask for help for the last question
Oh hye
Isn't it a teenager only ?
But in the question
It said, T is a set of teenagers ?
Which part if I may ask ?
Ahh all of them are wrong ?
Oh well, I ask here before, and when I got the solution, I just followed it
It look logical and the right answer
Only for the first question
The rest I did it on my won
own *
0.095 right ?
Well, we want to find out if a teenager if a facebook user
10 % of the residents are teenagers
So then
95 % of the teenagers are facebook users
So it's 95 % of 10 %
Whcih is
9.5 %
0.095
Oh yeah that's true
That would be
95 % of teenagers are facebook users
Oh true
I guess I don't know how to show it
Oh I just notice this
Wait so
P ( F Intersect T )
A teenage facebook user right ?
How do we show it then ?
I got stuck doing that because I don't know hwo to write it without a certain number of population
This was my working whcih I got stuck on the other day
Oh you mean
P ( A|B)
?
IN this case
It will be
P ( F | T )
Right ?
If so, then
P( F | T ) = P ( F Intersects T ) / P (T )
I can right P (T) as 0.1 right ?
Also what's the difference between these 2 question
Why is the P ( F intersect T ) the same for btoh question
But one question ask the probability that a resident is a teenager and a facebook user, but the other one is non teenager
Oh wait
Pr ( F | T ) is the probability that a person is a facebook user, that it's a teenager
Right ?
I see
Alright
So that's what you said
95 % right ?
Whcih is teenager who uses facebook
Which is *
Wait so
According to my calculations
P ( F Intersect T ) = 0.095
Alribht
Alright
Sure
Wait like
95 % Of T is F
60 % of Residents is also F
So add these 2 together ?
I don't know how to do it to be honest
P ( F Intersect T ) is 0.095 right ?
Also id it true that P (F|T) = P(T|F)?
I see
Based on what we found I got this
Yep
I think I'll just take a break
I tried doing P ( T|F) to get P (F)
But when I got the answer for P(F) it was
0.1
Which is not logical saying that the probability of a resident is a facebook user is 10 %
So this is not true in this case ?
oh
Alright
But I'll just take a break and think about it tommorow
Thank yo
you
Thank you

Try to use alternate series test
I got that it converges to 0 does that seem right
Well it turned into 1/infinity
It?
What did you get?

how can I continue here? need to analyze monotonic behaviour of a function
If ab = 0
Then either a = 0 or b = 0
x=0,-4 crit points ( from what kaynex said )
Thanks, was confused but now its clear
yup 😄
so from that find in which interval the fun is inc dec
that will be better to analyze the function
Right, e^(x + 1) has no roots, so nothing happens there
All of the magic happens at x² + 4x = 0
np np
thanks
all cred goes to kaynex
he told I applied thats it
if u still got doubt u can dm too on this

I would like to know how to work with level curves
I cant seem to wrap my hear around it
to find the contours, you want f(x,y)=c for some fixed c
so for example, the contours of a are $c=x^2+y^2$ where you get nothing for $c<0$, the origin for $c=0$ and circles of radius $\sqrt{c}$ centered at the origin when $c>0$
Mosh
yep
understood
how would we know those contour lines show f(x,y) = xy?
what are somethings I should consider
c=xy iff y=c/x
right
which are hyperbolas
so its like the graph of 1/x
where c is a constant?
if its a hyoerbola wouldbt it be b
c=-1
if I were to have a contour for option e
z = x + y
then would it be a straightline contour,, with negative gradient?

Okay. Take the information you're given. Do you know what perimeter is?
do you know what perimeter is?
so check your notes for what perimeter is..
i dont have notes..
So google it then
i already have but idk ill do it again
First thing you should do if there's a word you don't know is to google its definition..

#3 is the problem and my work is above for that. it's plurality, the professor said it's right but done wrong
@sonic crag Has your question been resolved?
nope
Since Tate's win needs to be assured, amount of vote Tate needs to get needs to be larger than the amount of voters the second biggest candidate gets even if the second one got all the remaining votes
so 315+x>343+(1000-850-x)
ty!
you're welcome

how do you solve this
i tried working backwards using the given definitions but i can't eliminate the negative
so i figure there's probably something else i need to do
oh i just saw this isn't for university level stuff, haven't used this in a while

@tight locust it’s a mock exam I’m trying to work through
What do you mean “this can’t be real” ?
Is it like really simple or something lmao
I’m shit at calculus this is my first college math class
Lmao i dont know
All I found was the inflection points and substituted the values
I mean
not the inflection points
Critical points?
My teacher is so bad bro, he plays a video of his recordings for his online classes
And sits down and doesn’t talk
The whole clsss
Bro you won't believe me, My friend's teacher is such an ass he asks the class topper to play the video and himself leaves.
Hahhaha
I found the derivative of f(x) and equated it to be zero since the f(x) = 0 is always a critical point.
Then found the roots of the quadratic and substituted the values accd. to the question.
I haven't seen so many functions in one question in my life
The last questions made me want to die
Question*
It’s kind of like the 1st questions x2
If I was you I would eat rat poison and get sick to avoid the main test xD At least I would get passing marks in the exam.
the good thing is the test is online with no lockdown browser lmfao
That's great lmfao
Yeah lmao, me and a group of 6 other people take it together 😂
aight I have to go and study for my exam. Bye 👋

What is the volume of the liquid displaced in water if the buoyant force is 888 Newtons?
uh
it's the same as the weight of the displaced fluid
(is it called archimedes's principle or something?)
that's volume?
not always

Can someone help me with questions 19 I'm confused since I'm not sure if there's sufficient information to calculate the answer (I'm trying to fin n)
I think there's sufficient information
please explain
Try thinking about ||areas||
In particular ||make the top left to bottom right diagonal and find the areas of the 2 triangles||
but then i dont know where to go after that
ok
ill try that
oh i see
its 96/2
then 48/10
thanks
but i have one more question
2 a)
wait
- b)
not 2. a)
I don't think that's enough information

The hint suggests to use f(a + d) = f(a), I solved this using x = a_0*k, k belongs to integer and is positive but dont understand how can i use the hint in the book to solve this question, any help would be appreciated

We know that for maximum h, dh/dt= 0. But isn't it the same condition for minimum h? So, how do I know whether the "h" I found was maximum or minimum?
I know that for maximum,
d²y/dx²<0
And for minimum,
d²y/dx²>0
But, this wasn't used in the answer that I have been given for this question.
They straight up used dh/dt=0 and then found the value of t. But how do I know whether it is for maximum h or minimum h?
you have to know what the function looks like
this one has -t^2, so it's a downward facing parabola and all dh/dt=0's will be maximums
and it's kind of implied that throwing a particle in the air has no minimum, since it can just keep falling
From where do I learn to know what a function looks like?
it's about the term with the largest exponent, and whether it's positive or negative
Ohh
What if it's positive?
Ik that quadratic has a parabola and stuff
But how do I know it is facing upwards or downwards?
For cubic or any other polynomial too?
as in the coefficient of the largest exponent term
yeah
well odd exponents sort of go both ways
Ok
So, if the co-efficient is positive it is facing upwards?
