well make sure you understand it too
Bro
I just need to know when to apply this
$f(x) = ax^n \implies f'(x) = anx^{n-1}$
maximo
that's the power rule for derivatives
awesome, that helps
now i got to find the value of a
do i just plug 2 into p and factorise the question?
so now the question would be f(x) = a(x-(2))(x-3)
so what would I write as my final answer>
what is the question asking you to find?
the value of a
then what should the answer be?
i was hoping you'd already done that
send question
He did
Its some theorem on proportions
maybe this might help
can't find much about it
Unless someone here knows it
.
im so lost on this question. Im so used to when p=0
the question is let f(x) = px^2 + qx - 4p, where p =/=0. find the number of roots for the equation f(x) = 0. Justify your answer
Wouldn't you use (-b^2)-4(a)(x)???
@eternal arrow are you referring to the discrimminant
yes
The discriminant in this case would be q^2 - 2(p)(-4p)
There is no x involved in the discriminant
Ok i assum you arereferring to the equation b^2 -4ac for discriminant
Can you post the full question
the question is let f(x) = px^2 + qx - 4p, where p =/=0. find the number of roots for the equation f(x) = 0. Justify your answer
Is there no info on what q is
no 😦
Oh
Im printing questions from online so they’re pretty hard
Sucks there isnt solutions
I'm sorry I don't know then
I mean, you can't assume anything, but I think q is a constant here but idk what the constant is
do you know anybody familiar with this type of question?
I'm sorry I don't

Couldn't find an attached image in the last 10 messages.
tbh looks like theres insufficient information
Except for the fact Photomath added a C on the answer
Doesn't C disappear in this context?
(F(X1) + C) -( F(X2) + C)
Or have I missed something
yes because it is indefinite integral
bro we learn that in inequalities
This is quadratics lmao
Wait nvm
XD
Its 4AM where im from lmfao
if it's $\int_{x_2}^{x_1}$ then you don't need the constant\
but if it's just $\int$ without upper and lower bounds then you need to put "+C" at the end
Muzan Jackson
But there is nothing to translate, just given an inq, ab = 1 and a, b >0
where's the answer?
wait
to expand on that $\int^{x_1}_{x_0} f(x) , dx = (F(x_1) + C)- (F(x_0) + C) = F(x_1) - F(x_0)$
maximo
which question are you talking about
the top
the one up top of page
oh okay
I havnt started number 4 yet
I need help with that one
its weird cuz im missing a key side for the formula
apply sin rule
Try recalculate the discriminant
im so confused on how in this particular question 🙁
Gotta star it to remind myself to reciew this more for monday
11/sin(100)=DB/sin(59)
Is this for angle your doing?
thats to get length DB
DB=11sin(59)/sin(100)
so whats the calculation?
whats the final answer? lol my sister is using my calc atm
mb didnt know this was still being used
lol its a dumb question but its late so lol
u can use the cosine rule
what is it again?
like the formula
isnt like 2 multiply by cosdegrees then devide?
MUZAN
just search up "cosine rule" in google
u can plug ur numbers in
u forgot to square 9.57 and 6
oh ok thx
can you find the correct answer just in case if i do it wrong. i remember doing it last week and messing up on the square root part liek thus
@devout bronze
what part do u mean?
u can put those values in a calculator and solve for x
,w solve x^2 = 9.57^2 + 36 - 12*9.67 Cos(82)
unless the value for db was wrong, this should be correct @eternal arrow
i need to show my work though
i wont have that calculator on my test, will i lol xD
i tried on a diff question and messed it up
look lol 😭
it would really mean alot if you could do it so i know where I did wrong.
what were u trying on the 4th line
and what is the angle? u just wrote cos without an angle
i dont rember
tbh
thats why i want to see how you answer it to see what i did wrong ):
alright bro
thanks, i keep messing up at the square root part
gas gas gas
@eternal arrow
don't you have to get the variables by themselves or smthn though?
DC is the variable
wait
the name a variable doesnt necessarily have to be one letter
i was looking at thwe wrong question
thanks btw
Also this is the question I messed up on
lol
NEZUKO CHAN
MUZAN!!
NEZUKO CHANNN
dont kill tanjiro
just base ur working off what i sent
dw
I'll postpone
IF A(1,1) B(3,3) P(2,1) Q(3,2) are the points (coordinates) show that AB = 2PQ
NO DONT KILL
why
nah
I can do whatever I want
he is my brother
tanjiro will kill muzan
Yes!!
Muzan will then turn tanjiro into a demon and then tanjiro will almost kill nezuko-
NO SPOILERS
oh yeah?
do you think he will successfully kill me?
but then he gets turned back to human
I am waiting for season 2
the sun burns you to death so yeah
good for you after killing pretty much all of the hashira -_-
dw I put a portion of my body parts at home so
Ur weak
I'm alive
its in the manga
I can beat every lower moon and I dont even drink blood
hmm
ahem hes a lot stronger than your cute face
solos the hashira
wait
NO
someone help
NEvER
YES
NO
lol u can't even fight the fifth lower demon
She is stronger than upper 6
its bc I was going easy
No its cuz you had a lousy weak ass
Imagine if I drank blood, I would be stronger than every demon
but i dont bc im kind
No akaza destroys you
DONT SPOIL
kokushibo spits on you to your death
HEY
and muzan pushes you with his finger and you die
lol
I didnt see season 2
no its not spoilers just saying they can destroy you
And no manga
oh okey
My pfp used to be Acnologia
anything but the roblox channel
jk ❤️
Lmao
lmfao this isn't my main account
Nezuko is the best
u lie
no
nah she was weaker than lower 5 that time
y'all watch demon slayer alot?
later on shes stronger than uppre 6
You're clearly weaker than my spider boy
I just watched season 1, thats all
no
what's y'alls fav anime?
ok wannabe micheal jackson
lol
Death note
Demon slayer and seven deadly sins
death note is probs mine as well
and dragon ball super because Im biase about it
was watching it religuosly every saturday when it was coming out
it would be either demon slayer or naruto
i feel like uzumaki is better then shipuden
I should have killed Sanemi
would you agree or no? I feel like i enjoyed uzumaki more
what uzumaki its just naruto there is no uzumaki
like uzumaki is just friendly vibes all around while shipuden is just like idk, medium
nah in my opinion shippuden is more hype
yup itachi torturing sasuke for days very friendly
you can't say shippuden is more happy vibes then the original
xD
ohh you watch hunter x hunter?
i did
Which hashira do you guys like the most
manga too
change my mind. i liuke it more then dragonball
Giyuu tomioka yessir
hmm
i feel like hes loved by most ppl
i also like sanemi
his mother was a demon
that is why hes like that
he had to kill his mother
id say GYOMEI HIMEJIMA
Oh
WHY DID U SPOIL
why do you think i picked him lmfao
dw i agree
hes not as cool as the others lol
anyways
can y'all help me answer this question?
❤️
its unfortunate a upper 3 killed rengoku
yeh but tenjiro kills him later on
Be like me and sleep
cant because i dont have time to study on the weekends
Demon slayer's animation is awesome
do y'all know how to answer my question though?
11
when shinobu died...
Is that geometry?
trig
Or trig?
nah upper 5 is despicable
Gotcha
can you help me answer it?
upper 5 was Zenitsu's senpai
i messed up my calculations
they had the same teacher
Sorry my trig is really rusty.
and then kaigaku(upper 5) turned into a demon
and zenitsu's teacher commited sepuku
and died
akaza's back story was hella sad
ikr
charlie
ye whats up?
@eternal arrow
https://www.onlinemathlearning.com/triangle-questions.html
I think it’s the sine rule for this one
hmm. i just need help answering. If i will be quite honest with you im so tired that it would mean alot if someone would just answer it so I could understand and know how to apply it in the futue
ohhh i thought u ment the other question mb
ye i already did that one lol
is length c b
xD
i cant see it properly
no becasue you didnt read how to get help
this queston taken buddy
13.6 is bc yea?
on the actual triangle
hmm
youve learnt that formula yea?
i dont think so ;/
so how will i use what you got with C for the final answer lol
if im being honest bro i havent done this sort of basic trig in 2 years
hmm
but i cant really explain how
sry
did you divide 2?
ah
aka today
i didnt go to bed lmao
Will be done after this last question
its straight forward but need the calculations to study from
gimmie 5 min
sure dude
um you didnt multiply 1/2
Are they equal?
Is this one equal?
andrewkong972
Ooh
wait. i keep getting error on my calc when caculating c^2= 25+64-2(8)(5)cos 175
can somebody calculate it for me. Do't forget to square root
gotta use the bathroom
be right back
If I have this fraction, and I want to have the - sign outside of the fraction. What will it be?
$-\frac{2ab-3cd}{a-c}$
andrewkong972
yeah but you can change it if you want to
How?
$-\frac{-2ab+3cd}{-a+c}$
andrewkong972
basically divide -1
but if you change the denominator and numerator at the same time then it will stay the same
Ooh thanks
Hello, I was wondering
What would be the sign of
√x⁶
When it comes out of the radical as x³
$\pm x^3$ like this?
andrewkong972
Yeah that's what I thought. But my book uses one or the other, in different cases.
Like In this one.
hmm sus
oh
Also i like your hand writing
you are actually the first person to like my handwringing LMAOO
i seee
Any ideas?
C?
Also this is the last oage
Super straight forward
im just taking a look at your calcs
i gotta a big test on monday that I gotta review for
uhhh i only queue with my mates
the one after the coordinate
You two, can you look at my problem pls?
Ye send it maya?
il take a look
Im just trying to get willy to send the calcs to the questions so I can review it.
I got no solutions so if I mess up i review smthn thats wrong lol
Read this message
maya is that little / a divide
wait il brb. Mom calling
tbh i was ass at surds
the only thing i can think of is maybe they want -3x^3/-x^3 to be positive rather than negative?
gimmie an integral volume of solids differential equation or derivaative i can help
Yes that statement is correct, but why is (x^3)negative and not postive, or both, in the answer. If both were correct, there should be two parts of the answer. One where it's positive first and then negative in the second part.
Sorry not there yet.
One more thing, if x approaches postive infinity, instead of the negative infinity, the answer is 3. Not -3(as in the case x approaches negative infinity).
Im back
you finish the questions will? Also those 4 are the last ones
also thanks for the explanations and sent work
@lusty ibex
<@&286206848099549185>
why is the first q a positive but the second is a negative?
does q depend on the state of p?
I think it's a typo
Ye there’s an error in the solutions to (b)
Yeah the solution to b has a typo
oh okay, thanks!
how do you sub say 6x-x^2 into first princples
i see u can do 6(x+h) - (x+h)^2 -6x+x^2 all over h
but i dont understand where this part: 6(x+h) - (x+h)^2 is derived
from firsts principle
hello @oak chasm , good day
sorry if you busy but if you free , possible us to continue ?
we learn limit yesterday, can we move to derivative now ? [or any topic, as per your choice related, you wil know better ]
i assume u cant answer my ques then
oh, first principle of finding derivative ?
yes
i not understand it completely but i know the formula is -
lim h_> 0 f(x+h) - f(x)/h
yes
6x-x^2
yes
You want to find derivatrive?
of this?
or is that the function ?
that you want to put in the formula ?
what you want ?
yes find the derivative of that
ohh
okay look
righh
Then we put d/dx separatelt
6 d/dx (x) - d/dx x^2
derivative of x is 1
6 * 1 - derivative of x^2
this is through first principle?
Derivative of x^2 is 2x
6-2x
uhh
for first principle
Let me fit it in formula
one min
thanks
huh
Like sometime it ask
Find derivative of 6x-x^2 at x = 4
What that value of x?
h is always tend to 0 but you need input value
do u need help knowing what derivative is?
i not good at explaining
its alright
well derivative is just the rate of change between two poins
points
so kind of a fancy word for gradients
watch this its very good
u can also watch the first video on the left if u need
u mean u dont understand the video?
and even books
wow
well
but i don;'t know many things
have u watched the video yet?
err ure not wrong but not right, gradient is just one use of a derivative
theres other uses as well
Can somebody please help me do these last 4 questions? Finished everything before it so just use what I sent ):
@pulsar aspen you told me to pin you here right?
Yes, please wait while I'm still answering someone else's answer
Anyone know how to make a program which only writes out the odd numbers from 1-100 in python?
Alr just please hurry. I need to review this asap
Another channel, please
u still need help?
Yeah
aight well
like what u want to do?
do u just solely want to print the odd numbers from 1-100
Yeah
have u heard of if statements?
for n in [1,50]{
print 2*n-1
}
if and elef
do the proper tabbing
If and elef?
Yeah we just stared with it
and u want to use a for loop
Started
oh sorry
Yeah
u can do what this guy said
A loop
oh mb
it alright
oh so
basicaly as i was saying
for i in range(1,101, 2)
print(i)
thats basically it
It says invalid syntax
oh well
have u added
the colon
after the for loop
that is important
as u need the indentation
Gimme a second
Please be quick. You have just buried another person's problem
oh yeah
I have told you earlier
he took someones elses
I’m very sorry and thanks dawd
I'm sorry for the other person that overtook your channel
Could you repost, please?
I don't understand what you're struggling with
You have proved that f(x) = 3(x-1)^2, right?
You really just have to pattern match here
For the last question, do you know how to transform graphs, right?
||To reflect on x axis, you have g(x) = -f(x)||
||To translate a units to right and b units to up, you have g(x) = f(x-a)+ b||
I dont knkw how to transfom the graph
can you answer the last 3 questions and show the calc? Lmao im studying right now in english class
@pulsar aspen
You literally just wrote 3(x-1)^2
You just have to compare with a(x-h)^2 + k
Hi! I'm doing research on an anatomical structure in the eye. More specifically, I'm calculating the surface area within an angular segment in a 3D space. I'm not a mathematician so I'm not familiar with proper nomenclature - bu imagine you have an irregular surface area - and need to properly describe it's "borders" in the top, bottom and sides. What do you call this "border"?
we just call it the boundary
Sorry for the terrible picture, but this is what I mean (for clarification). I need to somehow describe that the coastline paradox increases the length of the top and bottom boundaries of this irregular figure with an increased resolution and thus the area A
I really don't think we have a specific name for borders on top, bottom and sides individually
alright
Does anyone here know about Pythagorean theorem
then i know that i'm not wrong in finding a creative way to specify specific borders on each side
I got a test today on that
yeah, 'top' 'bottom' boundaries are actually a very ambiguous term in mathematics
Rn I got a 72 in the class so if I fail this it will be bad because if I'm failing anything I might be put in tutoring
then go study instead of wasting time on discord
Idk how to study
I used to study with my dad
I'm here rn at school
Well
School hasn't started yet
bruh
So I just like look over the info?
What do you mean you don't know how to study?
I'm bad at studying
Wait I got a question for scientific notation
Can the number be higher than 9
The first number
What?
I mean it can be 9.1 but yeh if it was like 123 it'd be 1.23*10^2 not 12.3**10
Hope I understood ye correctly
@junior talon don't answer bruh
I'm not supposed to o-o?
@junior talon why delete?
oh man
what has the world come to
math is fun when you get past the boring stuff and make an effort. the toolkit you get can make you rich
think about it

how can I simplify it
This differentiating from first principles?
what should I do then?
Is that missing a limit in front?
no
Difference Quotient?
Looks like limit definition of a derivative without the limit
this is what I meant before I confused myself
Anyone good with stats online?
what?
.
.
You're doing single-variable calculus
This is called the difference quotient
My answer is not correct. Can anyone point me to a YT vid that walks through a similar example
you listening?
ok
how do the 2 cross product formulas equal each other?
Quick question how to solve this question .. A coin is thrown in a vertically upward direction with a velocity of 5ms−1. If the acceleration of the coin during its motion is 10ms−2 in the downward direction, what will be the height attained by the coin and how much time will it take to reach there ?
ok might as well tell me cause i'm kinda waiting and your channel is being occupied

In other words if you want to take the cross product a x b, how does absintheta = the matrix formula for the cross product?

as written they dont
since |a||b|sin(theta) is a scalar and axb is a vector
well its absintheta going orthogonal
how can I insert -x^2 + 3x to the function?
🤔
so what's the proof that the scalar components match at least?
to the formula
Lets move to a different channel Nam
which one
aka how does absin(theta) = sqrt((y1z2-z1y2)^2 + (y1x2-x1y2)^2 + (x1z2-z1x2)^2))
that's what Im trying to remember, yeah.
this is not a good answer but:
It's known that the area of a triangle formed by vectors a and b is given by $\frac{1}{2}\norm{a\cross b}$, but it's also given by $\frac{1}{2}\norm{a}\norm{b}\sin(\theta)$
Mosh
mk
I'm trying to understand why the determinant formula gives the area
of the parallelogram
🔀
What is that e^x or ex?
E power x
And in denominator it is x^2?
nvm got it
are you sure the whole thing on the numerator is to the -1
Yes sure
the problem in and of itself is insane
When people say f prime of something, what does it mean?
derivative of f
From my understanding the derivative is the rate of change?
Can someone help me on the next question when you guys are finished answering him?
been studying all night lol
Did any one got answer
Y’all still busy?
Hello, if a line it's tangent to a parabola, there is only one point of intersection of the line and a parabola
How do you usually find the intersection of two curves/functions?
😅
i forgot honesrly
Im literally just stuck on this lol
😅
And another question
The intersection is the point where the x and the y values of both functions are equal
so basically you want them to be equal
the equation f(x) = y must have only one solution
What do I write xD
This is a mock test thats a review for mondays test
theres no way thats 8 marks
try solving this equation and see what happens
I dont know how lmao. Thats why i’m asking to see how you solve it so I can apply it in the future
@ancient saddle
do you know quadratic formula?
Yes
???
I dont thibk we apply it here though
If you mean solutions for k, 2 and 3 are completely wrong
guys, who can help me with this equation?
-x^2 + 5x - 6 = kx - 5
Okay, but that's not what is being asked, that's why I wanted to clarify
how? 🤔
we have two function f(x) and y
those are the solutions for f(x) = 0
I said earlier that that's not what is being asked
We want y = kx-5 to be tanget to f(x)
Then k=2 and k=3 are not solutions of the equation f(x) = y
given, y= kx-5
Curve is y = f(x)
Slope is given as,
d/dx f(x)
equation of tangent touches to the curve at (a,b)
(y-b) = dy/dx (x-a)
y = dy/dx(x-a) + b
kx-5 = dy/dx(x-a)+b
Let, m = dy/dx at (a,b)
kx-5 = m(x-a)+b
kx-5 = mx-ma+b
kx-5 = mx-(ma-b)
m = k
ma-b = 5
ka-b = 5
k =(5+b)/a
Would this work?
Okay, just wanted to clarify that those are no solutions for the problem
mmm you'd have to find a and b
shucks..
-x^2 + 5x - 6 = kx - 5
x^2 + (k-5)x + 1 = 0
So we want this equation to have only one solution
Final answer?
use quadratic formula with this last equation and find a way there's only one solution
try it and you will see
Ye lmao
Im waiting for my class to come back from iutside
I wont be able to use desmos during a test lol
I also had a question on this. Lmao I need the solution on this type of question
$\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}$ \
If we want only 1 solution, we need $b^2-4ac=0$
leonardogtf
from here you can do (k-5+2)(k-5-2)=0
.
mostly need help on this question and solution
Havnt used that larticular formula
lmao
😅
Hello, just decompose them and solve the equation, there's only one unknown which is X
I dont understand this. do i just replace du with whats currently in the integral?
Yes because that's what you got, remember to change the limits of integration
yes
correct?
Yes, that's correct
Awesome. If I was to sketch a region equivalent to the integral from before, would this be it?
That looks like the original one, I think you should draw the integral you got...
here
How would it be different
Here you are just integrating a constant function 1 from -pi/4 to pi/4
Oh so y = 1?
yes
Ok great thank you
the are is just a rectangle
ok, you are welcome 👍🏽
👍
Why does this look like an exam?
practice test
my sat exams on octiber
october
so im practicing by doing past tests
can u help?
Plug in 2k in the first equation
oh
ok thanks
cuz i remember solving a question similar to this before but i forgot how
thanks anyway
how i can write zeta ?
wow tricky maths question!
just have a hand spasm
For this question how should I do this? It says find two distinct square roots of i, so I need to find a two numbers such that squaring it equal 1 right?
kind of yeah but that's the long way
your answer should be +√i, try converting into a+ib form
yea
solve the definite integral.
nvm
lol sry
using symmetry it'll be lot easier to solve
u can shift the shaded region (0 to pi/24) to the interval (2π, 2π+π/4)
so you'll get 2 bands,
area of one of the band is again 2x the $\int_{\pi/4}^{\pi} sinx - \int_{\pi/4}^{\pi/2} cosx$
Ryuzaki
Show that $\nabla\phi$ is a vector perpendicular to the surface $\phi(x, y, z) = c$ where $c$ is a constant
CoolShot
isn't the gradient the zero vector in that case
@vivid tiger take any path x(t),y(t),z(t) through a point on the surface
then d ϕ/dt = p ϕ/px • dx/dt +... = 0
so grad phi is perp to the curve
as the path was arbitrary, so grad perpendicular to the surface
hi anyone knows what is the answer?
oh
is it free
