You could do polynomial division
yes i should do that
But then remind yourself what that would give you
can you please remind me
That would give you possible oblique asymptotes
Before doing that, you should calculate any vertical or horizontal asymptotes. If the function lacks these, it might have an oblique asymptote
you have to multiply x with the entire denominator
Yes indeed
I got this
yes, now do it again
Why should I do it again
because you are not done. you may keep dividing until the "new denominator" is less than the other one
there you go
Yea thanks you
What happens now
I have this
Yes, now you have to figure out whether the quotient of the euclidean division is an oblique asymptote or not
that's your quotient, your possible oblique asymptote
Oh okay
Did you figure it out?
@paper sage Has your question been resolved?
yes brother thanks so much
so when i do the polynomial division i get directly the oblique asymptote
@unique imp thanks so much
you get to any possible asymptote, it might not exist one
i took the derivatie also of the function and set it equal to zero where i found the three points which gave me the horizontal lines
Good! Now it might be easier to draw!

integral 0 to pi/2 x/1+sinx dx, somehow should be ln2 but i for the life of me can't figure it out
post a screenshot or something, or include parentheses to group terms appropriately
I would start with the u sub u = tan(x/2)

I have tried everything
what I did is find the volume of the sphere then cube rooted it
remember that volume is cubic
try cubing the numbers on both sides of your ratio
you mean before or after cube rooting it?
yeah
this is the volume of a sphere
also remember that r is diameter divided by 2
4/3 pi is common to both volumes, so just calculate the ratio of 3^3 to 6^3 (the radiuses)
$\frac{3^3}{6^3} = \frac{3^3}{3^3\times 2^3} = \frac{1}{8}$
Sooshon
where did 2^3 come from?
6 = 3 X 2
just factoring for very simple cancelation...or you can throw the thing in a calculator if it suits you

Can someone help me to find ∢F ?
Is that the whole question
Yes, i dont understand how to find it.
maybe use triangle CAB being similar to CDE
and the ticked off congruent pairs of angles are each complementary to CDEs non right angles
wait sorry why did I assume those are similar triangles 🤔 just looks parallel but definitely not given by the problem
Yes....
Are there any given values?

Hi so I don’t completely understand what this means
Could someone perhaps help explain it to me?
which part dont you understand
The operation on the left describing the diagram
that's the definition of absolute value
Sorry I can’t watch videos right now I’m outside that’s why I was hoping to clear it up through here
Well I know what absolute values are and I’ve seen and dealt problems with it before
I just don’t understand the a<->-<=a where a>0
It’s a little confusing for me
It means that, if a is a fixed positive number, then the following two statements mean the same (the first one is true if and only if the second one is):
- |x| ≤ a
- -a ≤ x ≤ a

Is complex analysis necessary for functional analysis? If not, does it help?
it does help in that functional analysis is often done on function spaces over the complex numbers
but i wouldn’t call it necessary
especially not a full fledged complex analysis course. id just be familiar with algebra on complex numbers, and you can most likely pick up the rest along the way

How would I find the composite area of a shape like this
The formula for finding the areas of circles is 𝝅*r²/2
divde by 2 for semicircless
well, how do you think you can go about it?
Get the area of both semicircles to make a combined circle but then how would you calculate the shape itself with the exclusion of the semi circles
guess...
reason through it
what would be the shape if the semicircles were filled in/included
i would first do 40m into cm
A 2D square
I believe that's for a different problem
oh
keep going...
yes
show your work
𝝅*20² = 1256.63
9000-1256.63 = 7743.37
where does $40 \cdot 15^2$ come from?
cwatson
cwatson
what is L?
40
for part a?
wdym part a and b
look back at the figure you posted
oooohh wait
there is a "a)" and "b)"
and what is r
10
actually I made a mistake, now that you mention it
the full figure would be a 20x15 rectangle
so $A = LW - \pi r^2$
cwatson
so do i need to use the rectangle formula?
and we see that L = 20, W = 15
L*W
ok and what is "r", then?
oh wait
yeah
so the diameter is 15
so the area has to be 7.5
not area radius
R is 7.5
ok, so now you have it
123.28
that seems more reasonable
Alright, thanks for your help @ocean hawk

in the surreal numbers how far is sqrt(ω) from ω
how are you defining distance?
well 7-3=4 so 3 is 4 away from 7
just uh do that with sqrt(ω) and ω
so 3 is -4 away from 7?
uh just make it positive of course
well uh what is it
i mean then that dosn't answer my question
all you said was the equivalent of saying 7 is 7-3 away from 3
what makes you think w - sqrt(w) has a nice form
7-3 = 4 only because we named it 4
whats |
do you know how the surreal numbers are built?
no
i would start there before trying to decipher what sqrt(w) means
well I kinda don't care about serreal numbers
im only using serreal numbers because they are similar to my system
well if you want to do arithmetic on the surreals you should know how the arithmetic (and the numbers themselves) work

why do you need to know?
why do you need to know?
so its related to the parent function
look up the definition of a quadratic
My friends are having a debate

what did the definition tell you?
involving the second and no higher power of an unknown quantity or variable.
so its a yes
It's a no
3x²+y²=5 is not a function
okay, why?
Because of the y^2
You should learn about functions

<@&286206848099549185> need some help fast, much appreciated.
Hi
Hi
Thanks
Post your problem
Ok.
Please give me a good minute to figure it out, and I will be right with you after.
I’m on the <2 = <3 = 90 part
that seems to be a typo
Ok
should be
<2 + <3 = 90°
which was given
Ah ok
OBL?
I want to clarify something before I continue, are all the statements listed below the question true?
Hey how do u know 1=2?
Wait isn’t angle 2 and angle 3 given in the question already?
wym?
You could just say it is given
But why 1= 2 ?
Maybe.
*angle 1= angle2
i was confused as well
Still
It is angle two and three that is equal to 90 degree
Look at the stuff listed to the left of the diagram,
yeah
but it says <2 = <3 = 90 so i thought it wasnt given
Oh , I got it 😅
No, < represents angle
Look at the first statement
You said BE Bisects angle ABC
And angle is represent with <
You gave, “given”
yeah
Which is proof, that Angle 2 + Angle 3 is 90°
It is given too, so no need for the math there.
I could do the math if you want
yeah its given
i thought it wasnt given because it says <2 = <3 = 90 and what was given was <2 + <3 =90
Yeah
so it was a typo
Probably
im also stuck on the other ones
yeah if you could would be apreciated
yeah sure thing
Thank you
For CE bisects BCD, it is given
Yeah I got those
Ok
What’s the one below the question where it says addition
Yeah
Now add up 1 and 2,
You get a 90 degree angle
Add up 3 and 4, you get a 90 degree angle
Ah
180,
So what would be the reason ?
Hmm…
Angle 1 and 2 are both right angles,
And angle 3 and 4 are both right angles.
Adding right angles leads to 180°
Alright
There’s no name for the reason cuz like when I did the lesson there was these math names for the reason
If you look in both addition equations, you can see they just replaced the 2 with a 1 on the next and a 4 for the 3
Not sure about the math names
I Hope that helped you

Same thing as last time but I gotta think of the statements that lead to the answer that proves AC = AB
<@&286206848099549185>
I got this
aight
So u want me to write or just text it
text is fine
1=2 ( given )
yeah
lol
alright whatever works best for you
i just needa see what someone else does so i can figure this out
Done
alright lemme examine
U understood?
after <4 = <3 im kinda lost
nah not really
Lemme provide you something
Refer to this one
So thus we are actually equating two equations
One is <2=<3
*sorry < 2=<4😅
And <3=<4
yeah
I'll try
Thanks bro
Np
If you can write the statement and then reason ittl help me understand easier
kind of how like you wrote the brackets on why
Wait i think i just did it on my own lmk if this correct
U did a little mistake
whats the mistake
?
Take a look
what sides?
Oh yeah 4 and 3 are equal since 1 is equal to 4 which was given and 1 and 3 are equal so subsitution or (opposite angles)
but do I need to write the 4 = 3 becuase I solved it without i dont see why 4 and 3 are necessary here?
ah ok
yo thanks for the help u a life saver
nobody finna join that scam fuck outta here
he gone now
Hm
lol
yeah im done you helped alot the questions now make sense
and that picture is a good refrence
Can u help me with algebra?
imma save it
im 50/50 with algebra
but lets see it and ill let u know
It's on ratios
i failed pre calc 11 but then i retook it online and got a 88 easily
oh that stuff idk i forgot all that
..
thought u was talking bout that 2x -3 x + 2y type stuff
Just have a look if u remember some of it ..
for sure send me the picture
Not really
So there's the question & the teacher solves it as a+b = 20
But why is it so ?
Cause the later one was done by me and I still got a ratio
oh hell nah nvm was never taught this stuff. Canadian education is easy you gonna sadly have to ask someone else
wait lemme give it another look
Thus there has to be infinitely possible values for a
So u are from Canada?
yeah
compared to other countrys its easier i think
And how you get promotion?
Ohh what's I
ITs like a fail but ur not failing
its like a 2nd chance and the teacher thinks you will be passing soon
And F?
I'm an asian 😢
Oh that's otaku
Oh? Rlly
Surrey a place in BC is filled with indians
my work place is all indians
youll fit well bro
I'll consider
India is nice though as well
always wanted to visit as a tourist
my dad lived there for a bit when he left Afghanistan
What? Ur dad is a merc?
nah lol
And usa govt just removed all their troops from afgan
You play any games ??
I don't get time
Although I prefer doin casual gamin like genshin
Rlly i thought it was famous there
when i would play alot I would play GTAV, Call of duty, minecraft etc
Pokemon go ?
idk maybe it is just dont know much about anime type games
Oh I do play cod but that's the mobile version
used to be really popular everywhere
now no one really plays pokemon go
ah nice bro
you should try the PC/ console version

How did i even get this wrong if the answer is literally neg 9
💀
dawg
There are tho @alpine sable
?
no i know what he meant
saying dawg doesnt mean i disagree
I thought you meant dawg in a rude manner
No
???
try 1,-1
Oh it is
its x^2+4=5
yeah
3^2+4=5
9+4=5
13=5
Not true
its 1 and -1
-3 probably wont work either
Don’t just tell them to just try values
ok mb
Remember that the answer is where the function graphed is at 0
Basically the x intercept
You could try graphing on desmos or some other app
Or you could factor 🙂
X^2 - 1
or just simplify to get
x^2=1
x=sqrt1
x=1,-1
Precisely
i just did it like this problem did
subtracted 5
which would
bruh i did the math wrong
LOL
thats different???
mb
lol
no i used that as a example
oh ok
My teacher uses the diamond method
He takes the value of x (in your case it is 0 cuz there isn’t one)
And takes the value of the non-x number (which is 25)
Now, he asks what two numbers allows him to add to 0 and multiply to 25?
Actually its -25
And we get -5 and 5
Which are the two answers
Or factored,
(x + 5)(x - 5)
idk what that is but i just factor
random question but do yk what the CAASP test is
I used to take it in elementary school
It felt more like the Sat
It felt like the SAT
except it’s standard
Not really like stuff to get you into college
Just like standards in the California world
Still don’t know my score
oh damn
Integrated Math 3 probably
i dont think so
Are you in high school?
Ok then it is integrated math 3
Most like
Y
Most likely
Algebra 3 doesn’t (technically) exist
ic
I’ve heard Algebra 3 is Calculus maybe, but that’s wrong
I’ve heard Algebra 3 is trigonometry, which is reasonable
And many others, like advanced geometry
But that’s geometry, not algebra
Kinda weird
Maybe linear algebra
But then again, linear algebra is it’s own course
Probably trigonometry
x^2+x-90=0
(9-x)(x+10)=0
x= 9,-10 right
I still cant wrap my head around theta, beta, alpha, sin, cos, tan, csc,
All this stuff
Hmm..
I think there is a flaw
i dont even know what half of those evne are
💀
ok
Can you give me the original equation?
x^2+x-90=0
\
Now we have
[x - 9)(x + 10)
Our final answer is 9 and -10
I think you might have some confusion why
Here is why.
i just put them in wrong order
If you plug in 9 for x,
thats it
Do you still need help, or is that all the help you want?
Oh
Interesting
Is the CAASP mandatory?
Oh
Wait you are in California, right?
yes
Ohh ok
yea
Nice
I’m really bad at history
me too
oh and how did i do this wrong
oh
Is that correct?
yea
Less goo
mb
yes
Nice
are u
What college you planning for?
im going to community college then i will transfer
Nice
to some big college thing
What university are you planning to go to?
it depends how i do in the community colelge lol
no im not that smart
its ok im just doing work
Ok
I’m planning to go to a maybe top college
Being cocky, but I think my grades check out,
And my sat score may be 1240, but it can get higher since I am putting in the work, putting in the hours, and taking what’s ours
yes if we put in the work put in the hours we can take whats ours
Fr
Ok
im gonna grab my other homework then post in here
