Hi everyone, we're playing with 3 friends and I'm the one hosting, we never had issues in the past but now one of my friends can't talk on discord while being on The Forest. We see him modulate but no sound is coming, he tried to talk in game and sometimes we hear him sometimes we don't.
We checked his settings and everything is fine, he has background audio on in Discord but nothing works.
Do you have any clue on what's happening ? Thanks a lot, have a nice day

@ashen jacinth A lot of programs and applications have their own settings for microphones, he needs to make sure his microphone in windows and in discord is set to the same one that he'd usually communicate with
I would also check the one on steam but I imagine what's happening is the mic is being overwritten by the application and changing to one that isn't outputting any sound

Thank you for your answer, we checked Steam settings and Voicemod it's the right mic, even in his windows settings the mic is set on default, so it's not a settings problem :/

did you check discord settings?
and why is he using voice mod might I ask?
that's an external program that uses your mic so it could be messing with it

yeah we checked discord and it's the same mic, he's using voicemod for background noises and sounboard but he tried to close it and it doesn't work as well

Discord has it's own built in noise supression system, he should use that and I'd be surprised if it isn't already on which could cause issues aswell if both discords and voice mod are on at the same time

Yeah we know we used the built in noise supression system from Discord before we knew Voicemod existed but the problem is that even without Voicemod it doesn't work, we still can't hear him
should he just close Voicemod when he plays or uninstall it ?
