#Unable to put items on sticks after plating

So I wanted to put skull lamps on all of my fence posts but some of them I didn't put any cloth on before plating so now I cant put anything on them at all unless I would disassemble them. You can see the skull that's not plated is the one fence post I plated that had a piece of cloth on it that made it possible to put the skull on. Now I'm not sure if this is supposed to be like this or not but its really annoying and i don't want to disassemble half my fences and risk being unable to place them in the same spot again.

how do i un plate them?

hmm its not working, its just plating everything behind and when i try with just a stick its not doing anything

the only other thing is the R to toggle but i assume thats for teleporting

and when i try with a single stick in the ground its not locking on to it
