When a friend starts their game, they load in and I'm stuck at the lobby with an error that says "Waiting for the host to start the game." The same happens to my friend if I host, they cannot connect. We waited for half an hour, restarted the game, and nothing is working. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

No I just restarted everything, tried multiple times. I think I waited like 3 hours just leaving the pc on, I didn’t come in to the game but I did restart the pc and then everything worked perfect

Did you still connect to your friends from peer-to-peer? Or did you use a dedicated server?

I think the other person made a server and then I could join after a while

I did, yes, through Steam. My friend and I both verified the integrity of our files, and I still can't connect to their lobby

Yes, they sent the invite through the shift+tab overlay. I also accepted it through there, but it didn't change much
