Hello there. I am on my second day learning to code. The program I am thinking about signing up for, fes, has this training video before the interview and for some reason what they are telling me to do isn't working. Building your own AI chat bot. When I follow the steps to save the file as an .html file and open it through a browser my computer isn't recognizing it as active html rather just text. Any ideas? It may be easier to hop on a call if you're cool with that

Python help channel opened

Remember to:

  • Ask your Python question, not if you can ask or if there's an expert who can help.
  • Show a code sample as text (rather than a screenshot) and the error message, if you've got one.
  • Explain what you expect to happen and what actually happens.

:warning: Do not pip install anything that isn't related to your question, especially if asked to over DMs.

And if they're telling you to open some html file, that sounds very sus

BillyBobby is probably right, but even if we assume this is a totally legitimate course, I repeat: you do not have enough prior knowledge to do anything that involves an AI chat bot in any sense.

Atp you are just repeating what he is doing

#

You are not actually learning anything

All I need to figure out RN is why the text file I have created is not opening in an execution type function rather than just opening in text

Bec you can’t learn anything on ai if it’s just you are starting, you need way more past knowledge on this

Pasting large amounts of code

So that everyone can easily read your code, you can paste it in this website:
https://paste.pythondiscord.com/

After pasting your code, save it by clicking the Paste! button in the bottom left, or by pressing CTRL + S. After doing that, you will be navigated to the new paste's page. Copy the URL and post it here so others can see it.

I have learned about different functions, learned a basic CSS input, and very basic html. I've had fun the past hour typing this out. I'll get on my comp and paste it. One sec

Would you mind pm me your email and I'll forward the intro videos and you tell me what you think about those?

Oh I don't share my personal stuff. Generally: if a site wants me to do something like 'download and run' something, it's sus

timber igloo
#

That's not at all what's happening here though

swift terrace
#

You sure?

timber igloo
#

Yes. Hop in a private call with me here? Maybe I can explain better by voice?

swift terrace
#

@echo spire curious what you think about the above pasted link

timber igloo
#

Maybe I can copy the link to the vid and put it in your inbox. If you don't want to call. One sec

#

@swift terrace the link copied and I sent it. Hopefully it opens to the first of the 2 interview videos

Anyone who promises 'code ai in 15 minutes' or 'you'll get a dev job in 39 days' is lying

There is a path to learning programming and getting good, but those paths start with: learn to program first
