I made a game!!

Hello everyone. I recently made a platformer in python. This is also my submission for pyweek.

THE LORE :

You are an alien living on moon. You are heavily allergic to night and must keep eating plants to get night resistance. You are safe only when inside water. Your goal is to get into the water. There are slimeballs scattered across the map. they are docile creates but if you hit them, you get knockbacked heavily opposite to the direction of hit. you may use that to speedrun or you may also get hindered by it!

How to run??

Follow these steps :

git clone https://github.com/adyanthm/Lunar-Anomaly

After cloning,

cd Lunar-Anomaly

You may also need to install arcade by pip install arcade

Finally, in order to run this :

python run_game.py

Many of you asked for sounds, since im busy rn il add sounds + level systems after finishing my current project

This is definitely slick 🔥🔥, sadly i cant play it since i dont have access to laptop and unfortunately arcade doesnt run on android like pygame

If you all want it, I will actually work on it and complete the game by adding levels, more terrains, characters and all that. My original idea was to make something like silksong hollow knight but the time constraint made it impossible. Let me know your opinions here

Oh alright il add a packager with github actions support so you all can use it instantly in any platform

btw the energy bar and distance bar buttons are inspired by google classroom's upload animation

i recently got an award on pyweek for "slick ui"

If you see google classroom's upload animation its gonna be exactly like this but in blue 😅

you can convert it to .exe and then you won't need arcade to play it
the simple way to convert is using pyinstaller
first: pip install pyinstaller
then, move to the path of the project folder
then write pyinstaller --onefile --windowed 'the name of the file'
these were the steps to do, if you don't know.

Dang alright. il be adding these :

• cross platform release builds
• levels? (since its already an algorithm based map generator)
• characters? (kenney has a lot of characters!)
• Maps? (beachside, countryside, and moon)

Anddd at last :

• multiplayer : honestly i dont know how im going to do this because i dont see many platformers having multipplayer but this sure is going to make gameplay fun.

If you all have any suggestions for platformer games having multiplayer, please drop it here because I have no idea how im goinog to implement it. gotta research a lot

I think doing different planets for theme is better ngl mars with red ground and martian dust flowing would be very aesthetically pleasing and the dust could add a new mechanism since the martian dust is very fine, also conductive it could easily add a new negative mechanism like the making the life bar decrease faster since it would negatively effect the suit.
