I’m trying to improve my analytical thinking skills, but whenever I look at a dataset, I honestly don’t know what questions I should be asking. I feel stuck at the very first step — I see the data, but my mind just goes blank.

How do you train yourself to think more analytically when facing new information?
Are there any frameworks, mental models, or exercises that helped you build this skill?

You can consider looking at the data from some viewpoint: the owner wanting to improve profits? Or the shift manager figuring out how many people need to help at the registers?

You can also look at what summary statistics to get a feel for the data. Make plots of single variables, maybe for each pair of variables.
