ive only just started using python today and i want to use john the ripper to crack passwords but i dont know how to do it

I'm not sure we can help with using John the Ripper, since that's potentially malicious behavior.

Also, using John the Ripper isn't really related to learning Python.

1. download john

using john is pretty simple

john filename where filename is a file containing the hash you wanna crack

using wordlists is pretty easy too, just specify your paths in the --wordlist arg

and if it doesn't automatically detect the format of the hash, you can specify it using --format

if you have a GPU I'd recommend using hashcat
